It deals with the little things of growing up that I think most people can relate to, and Matson wove all that into something almost magical and so much fun! Before Sloane, Emily didn’t go to parties, she barely talked to guys, and she didn’t do anything crazy. The Distance Between Us by Kasie West – 5 Stars! From page one I was giggling, smiling ear-to-ear, and felt immediately lighter. The snarkiness of our main character was parallel to some of my all time favorite snark-masters and Xander was…oh my, what was Xander? Xander was the equivalent to every good person in the world I feel like I would date. Money can’t buy a good first impression. Seventeen-year-old Caymen Meyers learned early that the rich are not to be trusted. And after years of studying them from behind the cash register of her mom’s porcelain-doll shop, she has seen nothing to prove otherwise. Enter Xander Spence—he’s tall, handsome, and oozing rich. Despite his charming ways and the fact that he seems to be one of the first people who actually gets her, she’s smart enough to know his interest won’t last.
