Vampire Academy is one of my favorite series! I hope you get to read it someday, Jen! I haven’t read the Legend Trilogy either but it’s been on my tbr for a long time. I’ve read the first books in Hush Hush and The Mortal Instruments series but I never gotten around to read the rest of the series yet.

Have you ever read The Covenant Series by JLA? Because that’s why I’ve been nervous about starting to read the Vampire Academy. I heard they’re very similar and I’m nervous I’ll go in comparing everything in that book to The Covenant Series. Eeks. But here’s hoping I end up loving it as much as you!!

      • T.H. Hernandez

Yes, they are sooooo similar, but VA came first. The Covenant Series is pretty much a copy. However, there are enough differences, I think you’ll like the series. And the movie did NOT do it justice.

        • Jen

I heard to stay far away from the movie. 😉 I hope I end up liking it too and thankfully it’s been a few years since I’ve read The Covenant Series so it’s not super fresh in my mind. 🙂

      • Raven

I’ve read only the first two books in the covenant series and yeah they’re a bit similar but you’ll still going to enjoy it. Rose and Dimitri(my top favorite BBF) are kickass characters! I think you’ll love them too! So definitely give it a shot!

  2. Amber Elise @ Du Livre

Finnikin and the Rock has been on my list for a verrry long time as well. I hope we get to it eventually (maybe, eventually. We’ll see). Also please read The Diviners! That book was sooo good!

    • Arielle Hemingway

I want to read the Diviners so bad. I don’t know why I keep waiting. I’ve loved everything else by Libba Bray so I know that I’ll like these too. Eventually…lol

I quite enjoyed Legend. City of Bones, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Finnikin of the Rock and Vampire Academy all were a bit average to me.
I’d also like to read The Diviners and Monstrumologist some day. They sound so intriguing.

Yeah I’ve read other Libba Bray stuff and loved it and stumbled across some quotes from the Monstrumologist series that really got me interested. Sounds like a pretty cool/different premise

I have Miss Peregrine since 2012 on my list <3 I'm leaning towards admitting that it's never gonna happen…
Have you seen the movie version yet? When i saw the trailer, i was kind of disappointed. I thought the book was somehow different and then was surprised to find out what it's actually about.

  5. Deanna @ A Novel Glimpse

I loved the first 2/3 of Daughter of Smoke & Bone, but it lost me after that. There was a big reveal and it wasn’t my thing. Hopefully you’ll like it more than I did when you get to it.

Jen – I’ve heard Hush Hush is just awful, but, City of Bones is A—-MAZING!!

    • Jen

When Chelsea read this post she texted me the same thing….that Hush Hush was BAD and that the main guy gave her bad vibes, even though she loves bad boys, so to stay away lol. I have it through my library, so that’s why I originally added it to my tbr years ago, but after hearing what both of you have said I’ll avoid. 🙂 And YAY for City of Bones being amazing!!!

  7. ShootingStarsMag

I joined a book club at my local library, which is how I FINALLY read The Diviners and it’s great. I immediately read the second one. I still need to find time for the third though. I also really love the whole Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy. Some of my favorites.

There are so many books on my TBR that I actually own and need to read though – some from years ago.

  10. Katrina @ Chased By My Imagination

Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children started better than it finished for me, but I still enjoyed it. I also really liked Daughter Of Smoke & Bone, though City Of Bones didn’t grab me like the hype suggested it would!

Good choices, feel free to check out my TTT list 🙂
