Finnikin of the Rock (Lumatere Chronicles #1) & Froi of the Exile (Lumatere Chronicles #2) by Melina Marchetta 5 Stars! Finnikin was only a child during the five days of the unspeakable, when the royal family of Lumatere were brutally murdered, and an imposter seized the throne. Now a curse binds all who remain inside Lumatere’s walls, and those who escaped roam the surrounding lands as exiles, persecuted and despairing, dying by the thousands in fever camps. In a narrative crackling with the tension of an imminent storm, Finnikin, now on the cusp on manhood, is compelled to join forces with an arrogant and enigmatic young novice named Evanjalin, who claims that her dark dreams will lead the exiles to a surviving royal child and a way to pierce the cursed barrier and regain the land of Lumatere. But Evanjalin’s unpredictable behavior suggests that she is not what she seems—and the startling truth will test Finnikin’s faith not only in her, but in all he knows to be true about himself and his destiny. Anna’s Review #1 & Anna’s Review #2

Shadowfever (Fever #5) by Karen Marie Moning5 Stars!   Shadowfever was rich, imaginative and perfectly wove characters and questions, from the four previous books, throughout.  At nearly 700 pages, this book was excruciatingly painful to put down!  The trials they faced are always taken to that next level, leaving you on the edge of your seat. The mystery completely inundates your senses.  And the Mac that unfolds in front of our eyes is horrifying and enticing all at the same time. Jen’s Review

Poison Tree (Reflection Pond #2) by Kacey Vanderkarr – Callie knows a lot more about pain than she does about family. She’s never belonged, at least, not until she falls through a portal into her true home. The beautiful faerie city of Eirensae doesn’t come free. Callie must find her amulet and bind herself to the city, and most importantly, avoid the Fallen fae who seek her life. Seems like a small price to pay for the family she’s always wanted.  Then she meets cynical and gorgeous Rowan, who reads the darkness of her past in her eyes. He becomes Callie’s part-time protector and full-time pain in the ass. He has secrets of his own for Callie to unravel. What they don’t know is that the future of Eirensae lies with them, and the once peaceful city is about to become a battleground for power.

The Falconer: Book 1 by Elizabeth May – Edinburgh, 1844. Beautiful Aileana Kameron only looks the part of an aristocratic young lady. In fact, she’s spent the year since her mother died developing her ability to sense the presence of Sithichean, a faery race bent on slaughtering humans. She has a secret mission: to destroy the faery who murdered her mother. But when she learns she’s a Falconer, the last in a line of female warriors and the sole hope of preventing a powerful faery population from massacring all of humanity, her quest for revenge gets a whole lot more complicated. The first volume of a trilogy from an exciting new voice in young adult fantasy, this electrifying thriller blends romance and action with steampunk technology and Scottish lore in a deliciously addictive read.

The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds #1) by Alexandra Bracken5 Stars! When Ruby woke up on her tenth birthday, something about her had changed. Something alarming enough to make her parents lock her in the garage and call the police. Something that gets her sent to Thurmond, a brutal government “rehabilitation camp.” She might have survived the mysterious disease that’s killed most of America’s children, but she and the others have emerged with something far worse: frightening abilities they cannot control.  Now sixteen, Ruby is one of the dangerous ones. Laura’s Review

Dreamfever (Fever #4) by Karen Marie Moning 5 Stars! Through all of the tears, sweaty palms, smiles and laughter, I finally transitioned from like to love. And now, I’m beyond terrified that I could lose that foothold in Shadowfever.  But rest assured, the majority of this book was a lot of fun to read!  Be prepared for a whole lot of craziness, gasping out loud, and being crushed into the ground while reading Dreamfever. Jen’s Review

Where She Went (If I Stay #2) by Gayle Forman – 5 Stars! The story continues.  In If I Stay  In the blink of an eye everything changes. Seventeen year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall what happened afterwards, watching her own damaged body being taken from the wreck. Little by little she struggles to put together the pieces- to figure out what she has lost, what she has left, and the very difficult choice she must make. Heartwrenchingly beautiful, this will change the way you look at life, love, and family. Now a major motion picture starring Chloe Grace Moretz, Mia’s story will stay with you for a long, long time. Laura’s Review

Breathe, Annie, Breathe (Hundred Oaks #5) by Miranda Kenneally – 5 Stars!   Breathe, Annie, Breathe is a beautiful story about loss, healing and new beginnings. About taking some risks in life, about never losing the ability to enjoy the here and now. The story made me laugh and cry, it made me smile like a goofball and it made me clutch my kindle to my heart because it was just so cute and heartbreaking and wonderful. Basically, it gave me all the emotions and really, those are always the best kind of books. Laura’s Review

Or she did, once.  At the center of it all, there is a glass coffin in the woods. It rests right on the ground and in it sleeps a boy with horns on his head and ears as pointy as knives. Hazel and Ben were both in love with him as children. The boy has slept there for generations, never waking.  Until one day, he does…
