Synopsis:

Have you ever hated someone so much that you actually wondered if prison would be worth it?
I have.
And I had to bear witness to Mark's cocky smile for four miserable years watching girl after girl tumble in and out of his bed while he had nothing but scorn for me.
After we graduated college and, thank God, finally parted ways, I thought that I was done having to deal with the enemy. And then I got fired, sending me careening right into a local bar—and Mark's bed.

My nightmare came true as we both soon realized that we would be fighting for the same job at Emory Enterprises.
We had to live together under the same roof, and as the challenges got weirder and weirder, we got closer and closer—united by the trauma that is CEO Max Emory.
When I signed up for this internship, I envisioned coffee runs, not gecko sitting—long story.
Soon one thing led to another, and somehow my enemy quickly turned into my best friend.

But what happens when the games are over? Furthermore, how do I tell the guy I used to hate that he owns my heart when I wasn't even aware I'd given it away?

Prison time or Mark?
A few days ago, I would have chosen prison.
Now? He's all I see.

Review:

But how do you stop hating someone from afar when the only thing you want is to love her up close?

Office Hate was a ton of fun, had the most irresistible banter and was beyond addicting!  Plus, it was one of the funniest books I have ever read!  RVD is the queen of writing stories that are heartwarming, sexy and hilarious.  So if you’re a fan of that, then you definitely need this book in your life!

“Bad boys always taste better, Olivia, thought every girl knew that,” I teased as I laid her in my bed and pulled up the covers.

A year after college graduation, Olivia and Mark worked across the street from one another.  In college, they were each other’s nemesis.  But now they found themselves jobless and pitted against one another for an internship they both desperately wanted at Emory Enterprise.  What they didn’t realize was that the owner of Emory Enterprise, Max, was eccentric to say the least.  What unfolded felt like an office style hunger games that had me laughing hysterically!

He was the devil.
And damn, did I want to sin.
Heaven was overrated, right?

Olivia cracked me up and painted the perfect picture of her past with Mark Huxley.  He came across as a total douche and jerk.  And while Olivia was a little intense and could also be cold, I loved the fire in her and how hard she worked.  But we also got to spend chapters with Mark, and I was obsessed.  Mark was beyond sexy and could be thoughtful and caring.  When he wanted to lol.  Anytime Olive and Mark were together, they were like fire and gasoline fire!

Hating him more than I had ever thought possible.
For being the man I’d always compare every other man to.
For being cruel when I needed him to be the bigger person.
And for agreeing to draw that line back in the sand when all I wanted was for him to say no, and keep me in his arms just a bit longer.

Oliva and Mark played a dangerous game.  They both hurt each other.  They both weren’t innocent.  And they both messed with one another in the most epic of ways!  But underneath it all was a ridiculous amount of sexual attraction and lust.  It was addictive how much they toyed with the other….while also wanting to rip each other’s clothes off.

I leaned down and pressed a heated kiss to her neck, then sucked her skin near her ear. “Still needs practice…though I weirdly only want to do it with my enemy.”
“Good…because…” She lifted her hips. “…I would hate to see how you treat your friends.”

With this internship, they had to learn to work together as a team.  So they wouldn’t fail.  So they could get their dream job.  But they were both nervous, how can you truly trust someone that you’re scared is going to screw you over?!  Their internship “tests” involved an iguana, race, food, the rooms LOL and the whole time their traitorous bodies wanted the other.  And when they did give in time and again *fans face*, it was HOT!  But hold on because there was a lot that unfolded, and I was obsessed with every way the events played out!  Office Hate was laugh out loud hilarious, over the top fun and such a huge win!

“I’m very proud of you guys. You finished the race even though you had no reason to.”
“Proud?” I repeated. “But Max, we lost?”
“Some of the best things in life are gained…by losing.”

PS The “confessionals”?! OMG I didn’t realize how much I needed those chapters!  All I can say is good luck not having an open mouth or laughing at the craziness of it all ha!

Synopsis:

She’s playing to win.

Okay, so I probably shouldn’t have made that bet with Emmy. But come on! She was challenging me. Attract a guy in seven days? No problem.

Well…maybe just one.

The guy she chooses is her brother, Chase O’Brien aka golden-boy-Virgin and star pitcher for the Wolves. Unlike most guys, Chase seems immune to my charms—but I’ve always loved a challenge.

He’s playing for keeps.

Charlie never should’ve made that bet with my baby sister. But if she uses her magic touch to heal my arm and gets me back in the game? It’s all good.

Actually, the more time we spend together, the harder I fall. I always knew I’d recognize my soulmate when I found her—and Charlie’s the one.

Even if she doesn’t know it yet.

This new adult sports romance features a strong heroine with a soft center, a hot-bookish hero who believes in true love and a sexy set of brothers guaranteed to make you swoon.

Love is always the perfect play.

Review:

The Perfect Play was an instant favorite! With friendship and romance laced throughout the pages, this book was impossible to put down. Cookie’s books always make me laugh and smile, and again this one was such a huge hit! If you’re looking for a romance story that is swoon worthy and will make you fall in love, then look no further, this is your book!

It was the nice guys you had to look out for. They were capable of real damage.
I needed to remember that unless I wanted to get hurt.

When Charlie accepted a bet from her roommate Emmy, she had no idea what was in store for her. Attract a guy in seven days? Piece of cake! Charlie was mesmerizing and knew how to get a guy’s attention in the blink of an eye. But Chase O’Brien? He was a baseball star who was known as a good guy, read books at parties and was a virgin waiting for his soul mate. Charlie definitely had her work cut out for her!

Her light blue eyes were intent on mine. “I was wondering when you’d get here.”
As she stopped in front of me and threw her arms around my neck, she whispered quickly, “Don’t read anything into this. It’s nothing. I just need you for a second.”
But it wasn’t nothing.
The thought flitted in and out of my head as her lips landed on mine.

Charlie was fun, passionate and cared deeply, I wanted to be best friends with her! I loved that she knew how to get what she wanted. Like getting the attention of the opposing school’s pitcher, so her home team could make a comeback lol! She made me laugh so much! But Charlie was hesitant about letting the opposite sex in. She’d been burned in the past, so the moment a guy started to show any interest in her, she checked out. Thankfully Charlie wanted to win that bet and Chase was stubborn and wasn’t about to let Charlie get away.

“Not going to lie though. Every now and then when I need a confidence boost, I look in the mirror and tell myself I’m pretty.”
Chase grinned. “That’s tragic.”
“You have something against good self-esteem?” I asked.
“No,” he said. “What I have a problem with is you calling yourself ‘pretty’ when you’re one of the most gorgeous women I’ve ever seen in my life.”
My breath hitched.

Chase was the ultimate book boyfriend! He was intoxicating and swoon worthy! At the end of The Best Mistake, he injured his arm. He hadn’t been able to play baseball, and his team desperately needed him since he was their pitcher. It was suffocating that he couldn’t just heal. That everyone from his fans, to the team to even his family who loved him, made it seem like the teams whole future rested on his shoulders. I just wanted to reach into the book and give him a hug because he made me cry, my heart hurt for him. So when Charlie stepped into the picture, she was a breath of fresh air and made sides of Chase come out that had me smiling and sighing out loud!

I couldn’t remember the last time I’d felt anything, let alone actual electricity, with such an innocent kiss. I’d die before admitting it. To Chase or to anyone. But there had been something…

I loved watching Charlie and Chase form a friendship. It felt so real! Their moments together made me obsess over every single word or touch between them. They were so addictive together and I loved that we got to alternate each chapter between them! But you guys….Chase had this sexy, intense side and I. Was. Obsessed! So then when he stood up and defended Charlie’s honor, I didn’t think I could fall any harder for him but I did. I couldn’t get enough of the two of them together. They were the best of being endearing and oh so hot, they became one of my favorite couples ever. I was rooting for them every step of the way!

“The truth is I’ve been thinking about you every hour of every day.”
He bit his lip, shook his head once before continuing.
“My mind is full of you,” he said. “I want to run my fingers through your hair …to know what that feels like. I want to talk to you for hours until we’re both too tired to move, and we fall asleep right next to each other. I want to feel you in my arms. And if that sounds too romantic, well, I have other thoughts, too.”
“Do you?” I breathed.

While you can easily read this as a standalone, I can’t recommend the book before this enough. The Best Mistake was just as fabulous! That story was about Charlie’s bestie, Honor, and Chase’s brother, Archer. And in this story we got to spend time with other favorites too like Baylor, June and so many more! This has become one of my favorite romance series and I can’t wait to see who the next book is about! The Perfect Play was a swoon worthy story that romances lovers will fall hard for! I can’t recommend it enough!

“Hey Charlie,” I said.
“Yeah?”
Putting my hand against the doorframe, leaning down so I was speaking into her ear from behind, I said softly, “You don’t have to worry. When I find my soulmate, there won’t be any hesitation on my end. My girl will know she’s the one for me. I’ve waited a lifetime to meet her. When I do, I’m never letting go.”
Charlie swallowed.
“That intense enough for you?” I asked.
“Yeah. That was…yeah,” she said again.

PS Who knew spooning could be so hot?! *fans face*

I was having difficulty denying what my heart had been telling me for days.
Her.
She’s the one.
You are hers, and she is for you.

PPS I love the list!!!!!!!

Her neighbor.
Her savior and her downfall.

Twisted Love is a contemporary brother’s best friend/grumpy sunshine romance. It's book one in the Twisted series but can be read as a standalone.

WARNING: This book contains a possessive antihero, explicit sexual content, and profanity. No cheating or menage, but if you're looking for a traditionally sweet, loveable hero, this is not the book for you. Recommended for 18+.

Review:

Her chest rose and fell with every breath, and she stared at me with nothing but trust in those big, brown eyes.
Oh, Sunshine. If you only knew.

Twisted Love was an emotional tale that will have readers addicted from that first page.  The writing was so easy to devour, the characters leapt from the pages and the story pulled at my heart.  If you’re a fan of NA romance then there’s a good chance you’ll want this one on your tbr!

“Josh has the worst taste in friends,” I bit out. “I don’t know what he sees in you. I hope that stick in your ass punctures a vital organ.” Then, because I’d been raised with manners, I added, “Thank you for the ride.”

I adored Ava, she had the hugest heart ever, lots of sass and I loved that she had no problem putting others in their place.  She found so much happiness in life while at college, even though she struggled with her past.  And her relationship with her brother, Josh, was so heartwarming.  But with Josh going away, he asked his best friend Alex to step in and watch his baby sister.  So when Alex moved in next door, I knew that was a recipe for disaster or would be the most fabulous thing ever.  Because while Alex attended their family holiday functions, and had been around Ava for years, they didn’t always mesh in the most fabulous of ways lol.

I could imagine myself lifting that shirt, tugging her bra aside with my teeth, and closing my mouth around those sweet, hardened peaks—
I yanked myself out of that startling fantasy fast. What the fuck was wrong with me? That was Josh’s sister. Innocent, doe-eyed, and so sweet I could throw up.

I was already obsessed with Alex Volkov the first moment we met him.  He was a genius, who graduated early and had one of the most successful real estate development companies in the US.  Alex was the poster boy for alpha males.  And while I do love those types, he was a little too intense at times, even for me.  But regardless, I loved that he seemed cold and shut off to the world.  That he was able to control his emotions and could say the minimal while getting so much across.  He was a closed book that I definitely wanted to crack open.  But once Ava and Alex started spending more time together, he slowly started to open and oh my heart it was fabulous!

Every encounter with Alex, no matter how small, left me on edge.
I was nervous, yes, and a bit terrified.
But I’d also never felt more alive.

While Ava tested and pushed Alex at times, which could be so funny, he also messed back with her in the best way possible.  Yet every single interaction between them, even if it was a moment with disgusting cookies lol or a movie, was HOT.  The tension was so thick between them, and with Alex being sex personified, you’re in for a lot of steam in the pages!  And while I loved a lot of their sexier moments together, a few of them were not exactly my cup of tea.

I didn’t want to heal. I wanted to burn. I wanted to bleed. I wanted to feel every scorching lick of pain.
And soon, the person responsible for that pain would feel it too. One thousandfold. – Alex

Both of their pasts could be such a mystery, since one was locked away and the other hadn’t been divulged to us yet.  Alex was set on a path for revenge and Ava wanted to shed light on the years of her life that were filled with a fog.  So I loved getting clues and peaks into what made them the way they were now.  But I loved even more watching how they grew together.  Especially since Alex was dark, seductive, caring, dangerous and extremely protective and took care of Ava.  I also loved how he had no remorse for destroying those that did Ava wrong.

I wanted her, but it wasn’t a sweet, tender kind of want.
It was a dirty , ugly want, tainted by the blood on my hands and a desire to drag her out of the sunshine and into my night.

Twisted Love was gritty and rugged, seductive and erotic and twisted while being heartwarming.  The story was filled with a richness and depth that flowed through the pages and made it so easy to devour.  If you’re a fan of alpha males, stories that will twist your mind and a heroine you will be rooting for every step of the way then definitely check out this book!

Other Favorite Quotes:

I couldn’t resist— I scooted closer to him on the couch and pushed his shoulders forward so I could run my palm down his back.
His muscles bunched beneath my touch. “What,” he said in a tight, controlled voice. “Are you doing?”
“I’m searching for your control panel.” I patted his back, trying —and failing —not to notice the sculpted contours of his muscles. I’d never seen Alex shirtless, but I imagined it was glorious. “You must be a robot.”

Darkness craves light as much as it wants to destroy it, and here, in this ballroom, with her in my arms and my cock straining against my zipper, that had never been more clear.
I hated how much I wanted her, and I hated that she wasn’t smart enough to run away from me while she still had a chance.
Though let’s be honest, it was already too late.
She was mine. She just didn’t know it yet.

It was only a kiss, but it seemed so much more illicit. Dangerous.

A better person would tell her the truth, but I’d rather be the villain with her by my side than the hero who risked losing her because of a misguided sense of morality.

Synopsis:

The movie star and the dog groomer are one kiss away from the perfect love story. That’s the hiccup in a warm and witty romance by the bestselling author of Roommaid.

The meet-cute award goes to dog groomer Juliet Nolan. It’s one of Hollywood’s biggest nights when she volunteers as a seat filler and winds up next to movie heartthrob Noah freaking Douglas. Tongue tied and toes curling in her pink Converse, she pretends that she doesn’t have a clue who he is. It’s the only way to keep from swooning.

She’s pretty and unpretentious, loves his dog, and is not a worshipping fan. No way Noah’s giving up on her, even if his affectionate pursuit comes with a bump: Juliet has a pathological fear of kissing and the disappointments that follow. What odds does romance have without that momentous, stupendous, once-in-a-lifetime first smooch? Patient, empathetic, and carrying personal burdens of his own, Noah suggests a remedy: they rehearse.

The lessons begin. The guards come down. But there’s another hitch they weren’t betting on. As for that cue-the-orchestra-and-roll-credits happy ending? It might take more than practice to make it perfect.

Review:

The Seat Filler was a delightful romance that kept a smile on my face!  If you’re looking for a story that will make your heart happy, have a fabulous romance and the most wonderful happily ever after then this is your book!  This was my first time reading anything by Sariah Wilson, and I’m definitely looking forward to devouring her backlist!

Noah still wore his smirk and he was just…staring at me. Like he was trying to memorize my facial features for the police report he probably planned on filing.

The first chapter alone was so much fun, I was hooked right away!  Juliet Nolan was helping her best friend, Shelby, be a seat filler at an awards show.  And who was Juliet placed next to?  None other than the Noah Douglas.  Noah was a movie star who she had followed and been obsessed with since she was a kid.  But their first interactions went a little off kilter, so Juliet pretended to have no clue who Noah was.  With the banter between them so seamless, this book had one of the most hilarious meet cutes I’ve ever read!

I actually pressed my phone to my chest, squealed, and spun around. I never thought this would happen to me, and not even in my wildest daydreams did I ever imagine that it would be with Noah Douglas.

Juliet was someone I wanted to be friends with!  She was absolutely hilarious and I loved her thoughts!  Whether it was her interactions with Noah, to her friendship with Shelby, to even her passion working as a dog groomer, there was so much to love about Juliet!  And once we got a little further into the story, we got to see her struggles.  I’ve never heard about someone who was extremely fearful of being kissed, but her description of the panic afterwards reminded me so much of my own panic attacks during certain medical procedures.  My heart felt a kinship and hurt for her.  So I was keeping my fingers crossed that Noah and Juliet would work out.  Because while there was definitely a spark between them, could a dog groomer and a movie star truly work?

“You are one dirty boy,” I told him.
“I am,” Noah agreed as he brushed some soil off his pants.
My cheeks flushed and I said, “I was talking to your dog.”
“I know.” Then he winked at me and all the blood drained from my brain.

Noah Douglas was charming, sweet, caring and swoon worthy!  I loved that he was down to earth, hardworking, and such a good man.  He snagged me from that very first chapter and the more we got to learn about Noah, the harder I fell for him.  Even though he was Hollywood royalty, I loved how much he loved his dog, wasn’t superficial and had such a good heart.  And when Noah learned about Juliet’s kissing phobia, the care he took towards that situation, he continued to melt my heart!  Plus I loved every moment he was around Juliet, especially since you could feel the chemistry.  But happily ever afters aren’t always easy, so I kept my fingers crossed that they would eventually get theirs.  It was so deserved!

He wrapped his long fingers around my wrist and pulled my hand to his chest, placing it over his heart. It was beating fast. “You’re not the only one affected.”

Romance lovers will enjoy how easy it is to devour The Seat Filler!  I laughed and smiled through the beginning, my heart got pulled in different ways through the middle and the end had the most wonderful happily ever afters!  If you’re a fan of adult romance that is sweet and fun, then definitely add this one to your list!

Synopsis:

Lady Willow Arlington, hauntingly lovely, is also blind and known by the ton as the dowry-less daughter. Alasdair Morley, the Marquess of Westcliffe, is in need of an heiress, but Lady Willow should be the last person he craves after she was persuaded to reject his offer of marriage when he was a mere third son. Passion reignites between them, and he makes an enticing offer she cannot resist, drawing them into a dance of lust and love despite the misgivings in his heart.

Review:

I will be your anchor when you falter…always.

The Marquess and I was a delightful, sexy tale.  I was looking for a book that I could read in one sitting on KU, and this was exactly what I was looking for!  It was amazing how quickly I connected and adored these characters.  If you love second chance and historical romance, then this is the book for you!

Hardly worth remembering? She had dreamed of him at the crest of each dawn and nightfall for years. Memories of past kisses, shared dreams, and nightmares rushed through her, causing her heart to tremble in both fear and joy.

Alasdair Hugh Morley, the Marquess of Westcliffe and Lady Willow Rosalind Arlington, the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Milton, cared deeply for one another in their younger years.  And while Alasdair wanted them to marry, Willow’s parents would not allow that since he was a third son.  She was to be wed to another.  Six years later, after drastic events to the both of them, they’re near each other again with instant sparks and attraction.  But Alasdair is need of a wife with a substantial dowry and Willow has none.

I missed you. Yet the words would not come.

I loved Willow and Alasdair!  Alasdair was kind, sexy, but his heart still hurt because of Willow’s rejection years ago.  He had plans of ruining her, to help get her out of his system.  But when he discovers that Willow is now blind, from an accident in the past, that pulls at his heartstrings. And Willow?!  You guys, I loved her!  She was brave and strong, but she also sees herself as a burden to others.  They both had so much to learn and grow, with themselves and each other, and the moment they came together again everything changes.

I desire you to touch me, to kiss me, because I crave something more in my life.

This was a beautiful and quick story about two souls who were destined to be together.  I loved seeing that they still cared and trusted one another so deeply.  And I loved watching their story unfold, especially their moment by the lake *fans face*.  Their times together were seductive and sensual and I could have easily stayed with these characters longer.  I highlighted close to half this book, that’s how much I enjoyed this story lol. Now I can’t wait to devour the rest of the books in this series!
