Synopsis:

As Caden and Brighton's attraction grows despite the odds stacked against a happily ever after, they must work together to stop an Ancient fae from releasing the Queen, who wants nothing more than to see Caden become the evil Prince once feared by fae and mortals alike.

Review:

The King was action packed, emotional and there was even more sexual tension between Brighton and Caden *fans face*.  When I finished that last page, I was shocked again that I read a novella.  At almost 200 pages, there was so much packed into this book and I even found myself crying because I was so emotionally invested.   The King was definitely a phenomenal follow up to The Prince!  So if you’re a fan of The Wicked Trilogy, fae or Jennifer Armentrout then you have to pick this one up!

The King was quiet for several moments, and then he looked at me. “If you knew that someone you…you looked fondly upon was doing something that would surely lead to their demise, would you not try to stop them?”
“Are you saying you look fondly upon me, King?”
His head tilted, and then he looked away.

The story started two years after The Prince ended.  Brighton was focused on hunting down the fae who killed her mother and nearly killed her too.  It didn’t matter that she had never hunt fae for The Order, she’d been trained just like everyone else.  So while Brighton was out for revenge and redemption, Caden seemed to turn up wherever Brighton was.

Part of me hated how my body responded to him, how my heart swelled and raced whenever he was near. All of me wanted him, though, and I loathed that most of all.

Caden and Brighton traveled down a forbidden path that had me absolutely addicted.  He’s fae, she’s in The Order.  They should not be together, but their story was oh so seductive and sexy.  And when we learned both of their secrets, ohhhhhh it was so good!  With twists and turns, it was impossible to put this book down.  Especially since you can binge it in one sitting.  While one of the twists hurt my heart, the other one I saw coming!  But hold on because there are also some dark and twisted moments that left me horrified to read what unfold next.

This was insane. I was mad at him, and he was beyond frustrated with me, but this… God, this felt right, and I was so full of raw, painful need that I didn’t care what came next.

With lots of angst, my emotions were through the roof.  And while this story pulled at my heart, there was also moments of lightness since we got to spend time with our favorites.  Tink was hilarious as ever with his Amazon addiction and his antics with Dixon.  Ren, Ivy and so many others we cared for from The Wicked Trilogy were in the story too.  Plus I loved watching how much Brighton grew emotionally and physically.  And Caden.  Sigh.  He stole my heart even more.  Caden was beyond protective and while I knew he had to have a huge heart, well, I can’t say more other than he easily became one of my book boyfriends!

“Duty should never supersede what is right,” he said. “No matter the cost.”

So yes, I definitely recommend this book!  But start with The Prince.  And if you even want to go further back, then you can pick up The Wicked Trilogy.  They’re all so amazing!  Now I’m counting down the days until I can read the third and final book about Caden and Brighton.  That ending has me desperately wanting to know what happens next but also left me screaming and smiling I Knew It!!  Enjoy!

Synopsis:

Enter a world of gargoyle protectors, rising demons and one girl with an explosive secret.

Eighteen-year-old Trinity Marrow may be going blind, but she can see and communicate with ghosts and spirits. Her unique gift is part of a secret so dangerous that she’s been in hiding for years in an isolated compound fiercely guarded by Wardens—gargoyle shape-shifters who protect humankind from demons. If the demons discover the truth about Trinity, they’ll devour her, flesh and bone, to enhance their own powers.

When Wardens from another clan arrive with disturbing reports that something out there is killing both demons and Wardens, Trinity’s safe world implodes. Not the least because one of the outsiders is the most annoying and fascinating person she’s ever met. Zayne has secrets of his own that will upend her world yet again—but working together becomes imperative once demons breach the compound and Trinity’s secret comes to light. To save her family and maybe the world, she’ll have to put her trust in Zayne. But all bets are off as a supernatural war is unleashed…

Review:

Storm & Fury was an addicting, emotional ride!  I absolutely loved being back in this world and that Zayne got his own story.  It was so much more than I ever could have hoped for!  There was a slow burn romance, a kick ass girl, a sexy protective male and friendship, lust, sacrifice, trust and banter filled the pages.  If you’re a fan of JLA or paranormal romance, then you definitely have to add this one to your tbr!

“Are you sure you’ve had years of training?”I taunted, steadily approaching him.
Several strands of hair had fallen free, brushing his cheeks as he faced me. “Are you sure you’ve just had a few training sessions?”
“Guess what?”I darted under his swing and hit the floor, planting my palms on the mat as I kicked out, taking his legs out from underneath him. “I lied.”

We started out this book meeting Trinity Marrow, who was going blind, but could see and communicate with ghost and spirits.  She lived in the middle of nowhere and within a Warden community, even though she wasn’t a Warden.  Wardens were gargoyle shape-shifters who protected humankind from demons. But if the demons ever discovered Trinity, they would destroy her.  So when three men I cherished from The Dark Elements Series came to her compound, her whole life was about to change.  They informed her clan that something out there was hunting Wardens and demons, and before she knew it, it became critical that they work together.

Zayne let go of my hand . “Only you would argue with me over the condition of your back.” He placed the jar on the counter. “I need you undressed from the waist up.”
“What?” I gaped at him. “Usually a guy tells me I’m pretty before he demands that I take my shirt off.”
He shot me a bland look. “Is that all it takes for you to take your shirt off? You’re very pretty, Trinity.”
My eyes narrowed as I placed my OJ on the sink so that I wouldn’t throw it in his face.

I absolutely adored Trinity.  This whole story was from her point of view and I loved how she was so easy to connect with.  Trinity was kind, smart, compassionate, but she was also brave and had so much heart.  I loved that she could be fearless, especially when it came to her diminishing eyesight.  She didn’t let not being able to fully see hold her back, whether it came to training, fighting or even just life in general.  She was someone one could look up to.

“What are you going to do if it does get worse?” he asked.
“Maybe I’ll get myself a seeing-eye gargoyle.”
Zayne chuckled. “I can be that for you.”
“Uh, yeah, I feel like you’d grow very bored of that.”
“I don’t think so.” His fingers curled around my chin, bringing my gaze back to his. Air hitched in my throat. “I don’t think… there’s ever a boring second around you.”

When Trinity and Zayne met, sparks flew.  There was a lot of friction between them, and they didn’t get off on the best foot.  So they constantly threw barbs at each other and it was hilarious and addicting to watch.  It was impossible not to smile at their antics.  But underneath that banter was an element of lust.  And there were some moments that left me fanning my face.  As they got to know each other, I couldn’t help swooning and hoping they’d turn into something more.

His touch was featherlight, but I stirred restlessly. Lust pricked my skin as he moved his fingertips down my throat, over my shoulder. A small sigh escaped me.

Zayne always had a special place in my heart from the White Hot Kiss Series.  But I was never on Team Zayne.  Not because I wasn’t obsessed with him, it was just that I always felt like Layla and Roth were meant to be together forever.  So after everything went down in the previous series, I desperately wanted Zayne to get his happily ever.  Especially since I had fallen so hard for him.

I…I wanted him.
I’d never really felt desire before, but it was burning me up from the inside. Want. Need. This was what had been missing when I’d kissed someone before. This was what yearning really felt like, and as I lifted my head off the mat, bringing our mouths so close that I could taste his breath on my lips, I thought I might drown in it. Zayne didn’t pull away. Instead, it seemed as if he became even more still.
I kissed him.

While Zayne was jaded from his past, he was still beautiful inside and out.  And it was addicting how he was not only sexy but tenacious and brave.  But there were so much more to him, like I absolutely loved how he could be funny, and then in the next breath he could be so emotionally deep.  When Zayne opened up, even a little bit, it always stole my heart and soul.  I was obsessed with Zayne and I thought Trinity would be the perfect fit for him.

“This seems very un-Warden-like,” I whispered.
The hand at my hip tightened. “You’d be shocked by all the un-Warden-like things going through my head right now.”
I shuddered, feeling dizzy and warm and alive. “Then show me.”
And he did.

While you can technically read this spin-off series as a standalone, I highly recommend you start with The Dark Elements Series first.  There were so many little moments or references that linked us to that first series.  And I loved how things pulled at my heart, made me smile or I had tears in my eyes because I was able to realize the importance of a certain moment since I had already read The Dark Element Series.  Even if it happened in the blink of an eye, the significance was there.  On top of that, I loved that we got to see all of our favorites!  Roth and Layla played such an important role!  Cayman was still making me laugh so hard.  And we even got to see Bambi, I’ve missed that snake so much!  But there was also new characters in this world, like Peanut, who I came to adore with all of my heart.  Peanut was hilarious and made me laugh so much.  And I loved how he helped out Trinity.  He was such a good friend, even if he was a ghost.

His breath coasted over my lips as he spoke. “We got this, Trin. We only have to stop the end of the world with little to no direction.”
“No big deal.”
He chuckled, and my lips curved up at the sound and the feel. “None at all.”

Action and moments that made my toes curl swirled together and it made this book beyond phenomenal!  And by that last page we had a lot of questions answered and stopped at a spot where I could breathe.  So while we got some closure to some issues, I can’t wait for that next book so we can dive into more of the unknowns.  And hopefully we’ll also get some more sigh inducing moments between Zayne and Trinity.  Fingers crossed!  So yes, I definitely recommend this book and I can’t wait to see how the rest of this series goes!

Synopsis:

It takes a fearless woman to love the most scandalous man alive in New York Times Bestselling Author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s breathtaking novel.

Even a ghost hunter like Rosie Herpin couldn’t have foreseen the fateful meeting between two mourners that has brought her so intimately close to the notorious and seductive Devlin de Vincent. Everyone in New Orleans knows he’s heir to a dark family curse that both frightens and enthralls. To the locals, Devlin is the devil. To Rosie, he’s a man who’s stoking her wildest fantasies. When a brutal attack on her friend is linked to the de Vincents, he becomes a mystery she may be risking her life to solve.

Devlin knows what he wants from this sexy and adventurous woman. But what does Rosie want from him? It’s a question that becomes more pressing—and more dangerous—when he suspects her of prying into the shadows of his past.

Now, the legends surrounding the de Vincents may not be myths at all. But if she’s to discover the truth, she must follow them straight into the arms of the man she can’t resist—the handsome devil himself

Review:
“The devil is coming.”

With its gothic feel and enticing story-line, Moonlight Scandals was a stunning conclusion to the de Vincent series.  This story was filled with characters I loved, some impressive twists and turns and it all made this book impossible to put down.  If you’re not familiar with this series, I recommend starting back at the beginning with Moonlight Sins. Each book weaves itself into the next and it’s an intoxicating ride getting to know each of the de Vincent brothers.  You don’t want to miss a single minute of it!

“Did you seriously just tell me I needed to get laid?”
Rosie rolled her eyes. “Did you seriously just prove what I said?”
A moment passed. “Are you volunteering?”

Devlin de Vincent, aka the Devil, intrigued me back in that first book.  And throughout this series he has remained the biggest mystery ever. He always came across as closed off and cold.  But from the moment he interacted with Rosie, in that last book, he came to life. Rosie was best friend’s with Devlin’s brother’s girlfriend.  So they were bound to run into each other, and each and every time they did I couldn’t hold back the laughter or the sighing. Devlin and Rosie were hilarious, swoon worthy and I was always begging for more.

What had she called him?
Ah, yes. A dickhead.
His shoulders lifted in a silent chuckle as he reached for his glass of bourbon.

If you love stories that are hate to love with fabulous banter, you’re going to love this book.  Devlin was definitely the king of assholes and Rosie had no problem putting him in his place.  She would go toe to toe with him and even tell him when he was wrong. So of course Rosie quickly earned my respect.  She was brave, fierce, loved her family, was a good friend and wasn’t scared of the infamous Devlin de Vincent. Yet each time they were together you could feel how much they physically wanted the other.  And when they finally did kiss or touch, it was like fireworks exploded.

“You want to kiss me?”she repeated, feeling foolish for even asking that question and for the flutter that picked up in her stomach.
That small grin appeared again. “I do.”He paused. “Very badly.”

I’ve been so curious to know more about Devlin.  Especially since he was the most secretive of the de Vincent’s, even his brother’s didn’t know his deepest and darkest secrets.  So when Devlin started to let Rosie see a tiny bit of who he was, oh he stole my heart even more.  But there was bumps because Devlin didn’t trust easily. He would act hot and cold towards Rosie, so that led to him making mistakes.  But the man knew how to ask for forgiveness and it was not only heartwarming but sexy as hell. And when you add in how Devlin fiercely protected those he cared for, I was more than obsessed with him.

She leaned in, kissing the center of his chest, through his shirt, and hell if that didn’t cause this weird pressure to clamp down on him.
It was unexpected.
Potent.
Confusing as fuck.

Moonlight Scandals had other moments in it that made me pause.  It was said that the de Vicents were cursed and that their land was haunted.  There were moments in the prior books that also made me pause, so I should have known better than read this book in the dark lol.  Especially since Rosie was part of a paranormal exploration team and one of her good friends was a psychic medium. When you tie that in with the bumps in the night and the sights of something that couldn’t possibly be there, well there was an eeriness in the air that you could feel.  Just by that second chapter I had chills racing down my arms and I even screamed out loud.

He dipped his head as his hand slipped down her stomach, resting just below her navel. “You make me want . . . so much, Rosie. You have no idea.”
She lifted her head, brushing her lips against his. “Show me.”

This book was so much fun!  There was a ton of secrets and everything gets spilled.  And while I guessed a few of the plots twists and was shouting out loud “I knew it!” there was one I didn’t even see coming.  Now I’m desperately begging, please let there be one more book. Please, please, please! But don’t worry, there was an epilogue at the back of this book that was everything dreams were made of.  Not only do we get a peek into Devlin and Rosie’s future, but also a look into Julia, Lucien, Gabe and Nikki’s futures and it was beautiful.  So yes, I definitely recommend this book and series to everyone who loves romance.

Other Quotes I Loved….

Rosie allowed herself to be dickmatized— you know, when you were either hypnotized by how attractive someone was or you were hypnotized by their dick, which therefore allowed you to look past unsavory traits about the person. That was what she was doing right then.
A douchebag was a douchebag, even if there were moments of nondouchery.
“You know ,” she said, letting her head rest against the seat as she watched him. “You’re allowed to laugh and smile.”
His gaze shot to hers. “I know.”
“Do you?”
His mouth moved over hers, and she could taste his desire in his kiss, feel it when his tongue moved across her teeth and then her tongue, and in the way his hips rolled into her as the hand that had been at her jaw slid down.

A girl pulled into in a world she doesn't understand finds herself confronted by long buried secrets, a betrayal that could tear her life apart...and Armentrout's most swoonworthy book boyfriend yet.

Seventeen-year-old Evie Dasher knows firsthand the devastating consequences of humanity's war with the aliens. When she's caught up in a raid at a notorious club known as one of the few places where humans and the surviving Luxen can mingle freely, she meets Luc, an unnaturally beautiful guy she initially assumes is a Luxen...but he is in fact something much more powerful. Her growing attraction for Luc will lead her deeper and deeper into a world she'd only heard about, a world where everything she thought she knew will be turned on its head...

Review:

The Darkest Star was breathtakingly emotional!  It was swoon worthy and filled with action, banter, love, friendships, lies and deceit.  This book pulled me right in from the start and held me in its clutches till that last page.  I was beyond lost to the world around me and I couldn’t be happier because this was my most anticipated book of the year.  It more than lived up to my expectations.  Seriously. My mind was blown and I loved every single tiny detail.  I’m happy to say that The Darkest Star is my favorite book of the year!

How in the world did I end up here? What series of really bad life choices had I made that led me to this very moment?

While you don’t have to read The Lux Series first, because Jennifer does an amazing job of catching you up, I highly recommend you do.  This book took place a few years after The Lux Series ended and I have to confess that I literally screamed out loud every single time we saw or heard about a character from the past.  I loved the familiarity of it all, but at the same time, so many things were different. It was now known that aliens lived among humans, a percentage of the population was lost in the war and there were new laws and regulations put in place for the aliens that lived among us.  I was fascinated seeing what the world now looked like.

“You’re still so incredibly stubborn.”
“You . . . don’t know me,” I gritted out.

I had no clue how I would feel towards Evie, aka Evelyn Dasher.  Her father played a horrific role in The Lux Series and I hated him with a passion.  But right from that first page, I loved Evie.  She was just so relatable, logical, sweet, kind and had the hugest heart ever.  I was so happy that I also liked her friends and her mom. And just a few pages into the story, Evie found herself going with a friend to a club.  Yet it turned into so much more than she could have imagined. Not only did she meet Luc, but he claimed to know her. Even though she had no clue who he was.  And so began the journey of unraveling the truths and the lies and I loved every minute of it!

“You tried to kidnap me, Luc.”
“Hmm,” he murmured. “That means I like you.”
I arched a brow. “Okay. That’s messed up on about a thousand different levels.”
“Probably. I don’t people well.”
“Gee, really,” I replied dryly.

Luc was EVERYTHING!  I can’t wait for you to meet him all grown up.  Yes his people skills could still be super awkward, but he was hilarious, sigh worthy and charming without even trying.  My heart was already broken for him, because of his past and the way he was raised.  But he had so much light in him. He made me laugh, sigh and when I started to see how much he protected those he cared for, it was astounding.  You guys, Luc was the ultimate book boyfriend.  While I never ever thought I would say this, because Daemon has been my #1 bbf for the last four years, Luc not only challenged him but he has grabbed first place.  I feel so disloyal saying that, but Luc was beyond amazing. And I can see countless others falling for his charm too.

Our stares connected , and the effect was instantaneous. Everything around us faded, and there was just us, and this . . . this sensation of falling. I couldn’t look away as this feeling surfaced, rushing to the top.
I’ve been here before.
My breath caught as a wave of tight shivers rippled over my skin. That thought didn’t make sense. I hadn’t been here with him before.

When Evie and Luc were together, they were completely entertaining.  I loved that Evie didn’t just fall for Luc. The boy definitely drove her crazy at times lol.  But there was this amazing chemistry and pull between them.  Between that and their banter, I always felt like Evie and Luc’s interactions were smile inducing.  And I was left wanting to know what was going to happen between them next.

Every part of my body was aware of his. The strength in his hand, the hardness of his thigh, and the steady dancing of his breath, and we were lying together like we’d done this a thousand times.

There is so much I’m not even touching on, like the side characters I adored and the mysteries that were fun to figure out.  But I don’t want to give anything away. Just know that The Darkest Star was action packed while also having so many heart-felt moments, it was such an easy book to love.  And rest assured, the book stopped at the perfect spot. While we learned some answers, there was still so much of the story we need to hear. And I for one can’t wait to read the next book!  Especially since I spent those last few pages with tears in my eyes and with the hugest smile ever. So yes, I definitely recommend The Darkest Star and if you’re a fan of The Lux Series, this is a must read!

I wanted more than kissing. I wanted—
“What do you want?” he asked, his gaze holding mine.
“You,” I whispered, cheeks burning.
“You have me.” His thumb dragged along my lower lip. “You’ve always had me. Always.”

PS I would LOVE to read Luc’s POV of this book!  If that was ever an option I’d pre-order that book faster than I could blink!

His shirt read NO DRAMA LLAMA. That shirt was a lie. This boy was all about the drama llama.

PPS Luc’s shirts were all kinds of awesome!  I looked forward to seeing what he was going to wear next!

Other favorite quotes I had to include……..

That was what I wanted at some point in my life, for someone to look at me like I looked at tacos.
 ✮✩✮
“Sit,” Luc said, and that one word was spoken in the kind of voice that probably left a trail of really bad decisions in its wake.
I sat.
 ✮✩✮
Groaning, I jabbed my fist into his lower back and was rewarded with another grunt. “I’m going to hurt you!”
Luc chuckled.
He actually
chuckled as he walked into a room. I swore to God and the Holy Ghost, I was going to ninja kick him in the face.
 ✮✩✮
“Then why didn’t you give it to me afterward?” I demanded.
A smirk formed. “Well, I was just messing with you then.”
“Oh my God.” I shook my head, glancing over at Daemon. “Are you hearing this?”
He held up his hand. “I’m just an innocent, enraptured viewer of this.”
A lot of help he was.
 ✮✩✮
“I kinda like the arm-grabbing thing,” he replied, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans. “Very dominant of you. Maybe I’m the submissive type in, you know, the—”
“Shut up,” I hissed. “Why are you here?”
“How can I shut up and answer your question at the same time?”
I shot him a death glare. “Luc.”

Synopsis:

I knew the moment Katy Swartz moved in next door, there was going to be trouble. Lots of it.

And trouble’s the last thing I need, since I’m not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet thirteen billion light years away. Plus, if there’s one thing I know, it’s that humans can’t be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. ‘Cuz they are.

But Kat is getting to me in ways no one else has, and I can't stop myself from wanting her—or wanting to use my powers to protect her. She makes me weak, and I’m the strongest of our kind, tasked with protecting us all. So this one simple girl…she can mean the end for us. Because the Luxen have an even bigger enemy—the Arum, and I need to stay on my game.

Falling for Katy—a human—won't just place her in danger. It could get us all killed, and that’s one thing I’ll never let happen...

Review:

Oblivion was gripping, emotional and I loved every minute of it!  So when I started reading that very first page I found myself crying.  I was so happy to be back in a world with characters that I absolutely loved with my whole heart.  Four years later and the Lux Series is still my favorite series and Daemon Black still holds the number one spot as my favorite book boyfriend ever.  So the fact that we got to hear the first three Lux books in Daemon Black’s voice?!  It was priceless.  Oblivion was completely perfect and this book is for everyone out there that loved The Lux Series!

“Why…?” Her voice cracked. “Why do you hate me so much?”
My control slipped for a moment, and I flinched. I didn’t hate her. God, I wished I did, but I didn’t, and seeing the tears building in her eyes killed me.

From the moment Daemon saw Katy, I had the hugest grin on my face.  No matter how hard he tried to not like or be around her, it was all so futile.  He constantly found himself drawn to her.  And I loved listening to his internal struggle, because Dawson was a constant reminder of why he shouldn’t be around Katy.  But right from the start of the book we saw what a huge heart Daemon had.  He was such a good guy.  There was no guessing his motives or what he was thinking, like when I first read Obsidian.  This time around it was effortless to fall in love with him within those first few pages.

From the very first time I’d seen her standing on my porch—the first argument, the first time she called me a douche, and from the very first time I realized how strong and brave she truly was, I’d been attracted to her. I’d wanted her.

I loved that Oblivion was smile inducing.  From getting to hear the little lies Daemon made up, just so he could hang around Katy.  To seeing how much he enjoyed causing their fights or goading her on, I couldn’t help myself, I kept laughing out loud.  Daemon was hilarious without even trying.  Especially since he was so inappropriate at times.  Yeahhhhhh I know Daemon could be the biggest douche on the planet, but this time we got to hear his thoughts and see how he felt during each of those moments.  That made a world of a difference for understanding why he did and said the things he did.

“Kitten,” I repeated. “You don’t get to do that and then stop. That’s not how it works. Not when you’re mine.” I backed up until I hit the wall. Sliding down, I pulled her onto my lap, her knees on either side of my hips. “And you’re mine.”

One of my favorite thing about this book is that there were so many moments and conversations that were not in the first three Lux books.  We got to see what Daemon was up to, when he wasn’t around Katy.  We also got to be privy to a lot of conversations just between Daemon and Dee or Daemon and the other Luxen.  I treasured every single one of them because they filled in so much of the story.  Between the new scenes, and being able to hear Daemon’s brutally honest thoughts, it made this book feel fresh and new.  But at the same time it still had so much of what made me fall in love with The Lux Series to begin with.

Air punched out of my lungs. I held her tight, and I knew right then I would burn down the whole universe for her if I had to. I would do anything to keep her safe. Kill. Heal. Die. Anything. Because she was my everything.

In case you can’t tell, Oblivion was everything!  Daemon was sigh worthy, lust worthy and dream worthy.  Watching Katy slowly sneak into his head and heart, oh, each moment was beautiful.  So by the time I got to the end of these three books, I found myself loving Daemon and Katy even more.  I didn’t even know that was possible.  I still found myself fiercely hated Blake, I eventually liked Ash and Adam again, I wanted to steal Dee as my new bff and surprisingly I even forgot some of the backstabbing and perilous moments that happened in the Obsidian, Onyx and Opal *gasp*.  There were so many scenes that had me smiling, laughing, crying and I absolutely loved every single thing about this book!  I hope everyone out there that loved The Lux Series picks this book up too.  It was beyond worth it!

And there it was. The spark in her eyes was a blazing fire now, and I was fighting a full-on grin. Damn, she wasn’t just cute anymore. She was much, much more, and my stomach sank.

Huh. Perhaps I was a bit too much of a dick the first two times I talked to her. Good thing she didn’t know I briefly considered burning her house down.

Kat wasn’t cute. She wasn’t even sexy. She was beautiful—absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Not that I hadn’t noticed that before, but now? Now was something entirely different.

This girl could slay me if I let her.

By the time we hit Interstate 81, I wanted to kick Blake out of the damn car, tie him to the middle of the road, and run him over several times. At least fifty times. Maybe fifty-one.
