Review:

Wish Upon a Cowboy was sweet, sexy and filled with small town charm, friendships and second chances. With holiday moments sprinkled throughout this story, my Christmas loving self was bursting with joy! Especially in the latter half, I loved it so much. With tons of heart, I found myself smiling long after I finished that last page. So if you love Christmas miracles and happy endings for all, definitely add this one to your tbr!

She stared into the lights of the tree and prayed for guidance and wisdom and for something to give her hope to hold on to.

Harper Evans was someone I instantly liked. She was a kind hearted woman, yet her past cast a shadow on how she saw herself. She made a mistake, went to jail and had to spend a few months away from her son. She was desperate to get back on her feet and have her son in her life, so she traveled to the cute little town of Creedence, Colorado. Within those first few pages we got to see how big Harper’s heart was and how she was always trying to help others. I was so happy when she ended up getting a job working for Logan Rivers. It looked like her luck was finally starting to turn around.

She set something off inside him, something that made him want to flirt with her, to win her over with his charm and coax that sexy smile onto her face.

I was already infatuated with Logan Rivers from Caught Up in a Cowboy. And while this book can easily be read as a standalone, I definitely recommend picking up the rest of the books in the Cowboys of Creedence Series. So Logan was sexy, strong and determined. He worked on his family’s ranch and the hot cowboy even had me laughing out loud at his cheesy humor. With just firing his house keeper and his ranch hand, Logan was in desperate need of some help. Especially since his dad was out of town for an extended time. The ranch was all on him. Harper seemed like the perfect solution, she was effective, did an amazing job and helped take a load of stress off of Logan right away.

He lowered his tone as he looked into her eyes. “I think we make a good team.”
“We do,” she whispered, then looked away as if his words embarrassed her.

Logan and Harper were instantly attracted to each other. Yet she needed to focus on her job, so she could get her son back. Harper definitely didn’t have time for romance in her life. And Logan made a huge mistake when it came to his family’s ranch, so he needed to focus on his job. And with Harper leaving in a few weeks or so, he shouldn’t get attached. While they both tried to ignore what was between them, it was impossible to do. Especially when it felt effortless for them to form a friendship and anytime they were near each other, sparks were flying.

What was she doing? Her sole purpose for being here was to get Floyd and get out of Dodge, not to get involved with a smart-mouthed cowboy, no matter how hot that cowboy was or how delicious his mouth tasted.

Wish Upon a Cowboy had so much heart in the pages. It was also a story about a mom and her son’s love. Of friendships being formed. Getting second chances. And a community pulling together while Christmas was in the air. And with adorable side characters like Nacho the mama cat, Star the wonder cow and Otis who I won’t say what he was lol, oh my goodness, this book was absolutely adorable! It was topped off with a meddlesome grandma, peppermint schnapps and a winter storm!

Her breath came out in a harsh gasp. “I’m nothing. You deserve more than someone like me.”
**“I don’t deserve you. But I want you. With every part of my soul.”**

Wish Upon a Cowboy was a beautiful story about forgiveness, happiness and finding love. It was impossible not to have some happy tears towards the end of this book. Plus I loved that we got to see some of our favorites from the previous books. So if you love Hallmark Christmas movies because they’re smile inducing, give you all the feels and have the best endings ever, you definitely have to check this book out. I’m so thankful that Logan got his own story and the fact that it was during the holidays made it absolutely perfect!

Maybe he believed in miracles after all.

I mean, there’s a reason all books end right after the couple gets together. No one wants to keep reading long enough to see the happily ever after turn into an unhappily ever after. Right?

The Upside of Falling is an adorable book that plays with the fake relationship trope, which is easily one of my favorite tropes. So when I saw that there was a new book coming out with this front and center, I knew I had to have my hands on it. And once I had it, I read it in less than 24 hours haha. I couldn’t put it down.

TUoF centers on Becca Hart and Brett Wells. Becca loves to read romance books, but has never experienced true love in real life. She lives with her mother and helps with her local bakery. Becca doesn’t have too many close friends, especially since her former best friend found herself in the popular crowd and left Becca behind.

Brett Wells, meanwhile, seems to have everything going for him. He’s popular and captain of the football team. He’s smart and kind and his parents dote on him. However, he’s just focused on getting out of high school and securing a college scholarship to make his parents proud. He’s too busy to focus on normal high school things, like girlfriends, and has no problem with that.

That is, until one day when he hears Becca telling a lie about having a boyfriend, he decides to jump in and be that boyfriend. Becca is shocked but goes with it as well and the two come to an easy arrangement. Becca gets to have a popular boyfriend, while Brett gets his parents off his back about having a girlfriend without all the drama and commitment. What could go wrong?

“First you run away when I kiss you. Now you want to break up with me when we haven’t even been dating for a day. Way to break a guy’s heart, Hart.” He poked my leg. “See what I did there?”

I’ve never read To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (sorry!) but I have seen the movie twice and there’s definitely some similarities in terms of them coming up with ground rules, assimilating between their worlds and the fact that both of them, not surprisingly, might begin to feel real feelings.

There’s a lot of wonderful themes in this book past teenagers falling in love for the first time, such as complicated friendships, how complicated relationships with parents can be and the feeling of rejection from those you care about.

If I had to provide any kind of constructive feedback, it mostly boils down to two things: It doesn’t bring anything particularly new to the genre and I wanted more from it. Don’t get me wrong, I adored this book, but I didn’t find anything, outside of maybe the complicated family dynamics, to be new and awe inspiring. I wish the trope had been twisted more, but I imagine that was not the author’s intent. And when I say more, I feel at 288 pages, it was a little light. I would have loved to see this be a little longer, so the relationship between Becca and Brett could have been more complex. It hit all the right notes, but I felt like it was skimming toward the top. I feel we could have gotten a little more in depth with these two and given the book a little more weight.

But overall, I adored this book. If you are looking for a fairly fluffy and happy YA romance, especially with the fake dating relationship trope, you won’t be disappointed. I certainly wasn’t.

Review:

Twist of Fate was a second chance romance that was sweet and sexy. But this book was also a second chance for brothers, which warmed my heart even further. Add in the fact that this can easily be read as a standalone, and this book was such a huge win. So if you’re a fan of Jill Shalvis, second chance romance and books with family, then you’re in for a treat!

The sentence shocked her and gave her heart an odd kick.

Diego Stone came back into town for his brother’s wedding. And if you read Playing for Keeps, then you’re going to remember and love his brother, Rocco. He owned the local tattoo shop and was a good friend to the main heroine from that book, Katie. Even though Diego and Rocco had a falling out over the years, he still came back to town to help his brother out with his wedding. But he didn’t even expect to run into Daisy Evans, his high school sweetheart and first love.

Their gazes met and locked, and in his eyes, she saw the things that hopes and dreams were made of.

Especially with memories of their past everywhere. Daisy and Diego were both sweet and caring, so of course I was rooting for their hea! Especially with Deigo going to the lengths he did, he was by far my favorite in this story! So if you love second chance romance stories, that you can devour in one sitting, definitely pick this one up!

Review:

Find Me Their Bones was an incredible continuation of the Bring Me Their Hearts Series. This book started off right where the last one ended. The action packed pages were filled with secrets, friendship, betrayal, and finding faith in yourself. And it never once slowed down. So hold on because you’re about to be taken on a fabulous journey! So here are some of my favorite things about this book…..

**I’m being forced to choose again. Between my heart and him. But this time… this time I’ll make the right choice.**

✮ Zera & Sacrifice:

“How can something that was a lie mean anything at all?”

Zera was a force to be reckoned with. The fact that she was a heartless who could weep, she was wanted for something special. No matter how dark that path would become, she still had her voice. Zera still had her snark. But she had so much to learn. Who to trust. How to choose what was right. While Zera made some excellent decisions, she also made some that hurt my heart. Even if it was truly for the best.

A thousand things flood my mouth and jockey for first place: I’m sorry. I wanted to tell you. I didn’t mean to hurt you—

I loved that Zera was smart, quick witted and had a heart, even if it wasn’t in her chest. I hoped she’d finally find the path that led her to happiness. Because she had lost so much. Her life felt even more horrific now and I cried for her, for the injustice of it all. It hurt that she had to tarnish herself and the friendships she had with others. Her lies hurt. Her actions hurt. It all hurt. But her reasons behind it were pure hearted. She wanted to make amends with those she betrayed. But I wanted her to be selfish for once. To take what she wanted. She deserved happiness, love and friendship. She was such an amazing person and I kept waiting for her to realize how truly astounding she was.

✮ Prince Lucien & The Truth:

He’s beautiful. And I can’t bear to tear my gaze away. No matter how much I know I should, no matter how much I know I need to push him away, I can’t bring myself to.
Neither of us speaks.

Prince Lucien was even more swoon worthy in Find Me Their Bones. And don’t tell Zera, but I loved him the most! Just like the first book, I looked for clues surrounding Prince Lucien. He emitted anger and disgust towards Zera. After all, she was a heartless who deceived him and murdered others. Yet I kept my fingers crossed that he would see the light for who she truly was.

“You actually think I would tell you the truth? After everything I’ve done?” I whisper up at him.
“I’m giving you another chance to,” he says.

My heart was in my throat when Prince Lucien would say things that made me pause or second guess what he was saying. A touch here. A glance there. Was I only reading into how I wanted it to all turn out? But Prince Lucien was also on an emotional journey. One I can’t say why, other than I was so extremely proud of him!

✮ Lost In The Story:

This one moment is all I could ever ask for. It is all I will ever have, and I tattoo it into every part of my aching flesh.

Find Me Their Bones was perfectly paced and always kept me entertained. There were twists and turns and while I saw a lot of them coming, I was still in shock. I was in disbelief that that truly happened. With heart stopping peril and moments that made me laugh out loud, this book was the perfect combination. So much was revealed and it all became so clear what was happening and where it was all leading us to.

He laughs softly, hollowly, keeping his mouth by my ear. “Don’t look so troubled, Lady Zera. You and I both know it’s true. It was only two weeks. What sort of love is ever true after only two weeks? We were infatuated, and nothing more.”
His thoughts mirror mine, the truth like needles piercing any joy I held secretly.
“And yet,” he says, “emotions aren’t convenient pieces of jewelry you can put on and take off whenever you want to.”

Looking back, I was even more emotional with this story. I had tears for the tiny remnants of friendship I found. I had tears for when the truth was spoken. And I even shed tears for what Zera was able to accomplish. I was SO proud of her. But this story isn’t close to being over, so I’ll be desperately counting down until the next book is released and I can be back in this world I love. I can’t wait to be back with my friends. So yes, I definitely recommend this series. But be prepared, it’s a wild and fabulous ride!

What the BLEEP this is so cute *goes and cries and blames it on pregnancy hormones*. I had been in SUCH a reading rut, you guys. I seriously have like five books on my currently reading list on GR right now and I finished this gem IN A DAY. I just have NOT been in the mood to read. I mean, two of those books I even am re-listening to and that takes up way less time and concentration than reading a physical book and I still haven’t even been able to bring myself to play those for more than a few snippets at a time during the day.

When I came across this book last week, I knew I had to read it. I haven’t read a book by these two ladies in a while but I had remembered that the few I had picked up in the past, I had enjoyed. This story line though, was something that really piqued my interest. I myself had a pen pal when I was in high school and on through part of my early college years. I’m going to be straight up with you, I was basically in love with this kid. He was two years older than me and when I met him at fifteen during a church retreat and got into some shenanigans with him, my friend that had been with me, his sister and friends, obviously I was star struck. What fifteen year old isn’t going to dumbstruck by the fact that a SENIOR is handwriting her these fucking letters and making her feel special. Wowwowwow. We had an actual ~thing~ for a few short months when I was 16 and things ended for a few different reasons. We still kept in touch after that though and wrote more letters throughout the years until I started dating my now-husband. I still have all those letters and actually pulled them out today to read. Funny stuff. I REALLY wish I could go back and read some of the crap that I had written. Must have been just hilarious/very awkward. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if we had met later when texting was a more prevalent thing but I am SO glad we didn’t. Writing those letters was such a fond memory I will always have and has such a more romantic and exciting feel than lame-ass texting. Kids these days should really take some notes on this, I swear lol.

Anywayyyyy I loved every bit of this book. The letters were obviously one of my favorite parts but there was just so much more. What happened in Luca’s past was…wow holy shit I had not expected that. Seeing that event shaped her life after that too was incredibly interesting to see. You KNOW that people suffer from that same kind of fear and anxiety in everyday life and I can’t even comprehend how crippling that would be (and that’s coming from someone who is from a small town and still lives in a relatively small place with not a lot of crowds). Watching Griffin easily accept those parts of her and do his best to just be there for her despite what his lifestyle is like was just….so good. There was never any unnecessary drama (at least I didn’t think so) which is always one of the top things I look for in a romance and the ending was so sweet I teared up. ALSO, I cackled out loud so many times. Like when Luca and Doc finally make it to Griffin’s and he’s pretending like he doesn’t already know it’s her and has ordered that specific food and is saying all of those leading things. I legit was laughing maniacally. So glad I was home alone hahaha. UGH, perfection…ALL OF IT. This is certainly a book that I will revisit for years to come.

What was she doing? Her sole purpose for being here was to get Floyd and get out of Dodge, not to get involved with a smart-mouthed cowboy, no matter how hot that cowboy was or how delicious his mouth tasted.
