Exclusive Excerpt:

The scents of honeysuckle and fresh-cut grass float on a late summer night breeze. I stare up at clouds from the chaise lounge on the balcony. A thick marine layer inched its way in from the coast hours ago, blanketing the sky and obscuring the stars I was hoping to see. With the moon hidden and the Union lights off for the night, darkness envelopes me.

Grief, guilt, heartbreak, fear, loss, and abandonment swirl in my head, creating a vortex of pain and confusion keeping me awake. Three days ago I was planning a future with the boy I love. Cyrus was going to come back with me. We were going to figure out a way to warn the Union or stop an attack on it. Together. Now his brother is dead, and Cyrus stayed behind, unable to ignore his sense of duty, unwilling to abandon those who needed him most.

Over the soft murmuring of desalinated ocean water burbling through the aqueduct on its way to homes throughout the Province, I hear the door slide open behind me. I sit up as my bio-dad, Eddie, walks out and sits next to me. “Can’t sleep?”

I shift to my right, giving him more room. “No. You?”

He shakes his head, his wavy, cinnamon-colored hair sweeping his shoulders. “My grandmother used to say if you can’t sleep, it means you’re awake in someone else’s dreams.”

That’s a comforting sentiment. Is Cyrus dreaming about me now? Or is he like me, too afraid of the nightmares to close his eyes?

Eddie presses his lips together and studies me for several long seconds. “Are you ready to tell me where you really were all summer?”

His question catches me off guard. I thought he bought my story, the one I told him when I came back. The one Lisa fed him while I was in the Ruins. Posing as me, she texted my mom and Eddie from my tablet with regular updates on our fake adventures sailing off the southeastern coast. When I first showed up here yesterday afternoon, he didn’t seem to care where I’d been or what I’d been up to, only that I was here at all. I’m definitely not ready to have this conversation with him.

“I don’t know, are you ready to tell me where you were for the first twelve years of my life?”

He shifts his weight on the chaise next to me and sighs. “I’m not sure how many times I can apologize.”

“You think another ‘I’m sorry’ is going to fix everything?”

“Look, I know I was a lousy father to you, but—”

“You weren’t a lousy father, you weren’t any kind of father at all. You were non-existent.”

He rubs his palms on his thighs and stands. “You’re welcome to stay here as long as you’d like, but you might want to ratchet the anger down a few notches.” He moves toward the door before turning back. “You’re going to have to forgive me some day.”

I raise my head and turn toward his dark silhouette. “Why? You think sending me a ticket and letting me hang out with your new kids makes up for everything?”

“No,” he says quietly, “because hanging on to all that resentment isn’t healthy.” He walks back into the house, sliding the door closed behind him.

With a heavy sigh, I fall on my back and stare back up into the blackness. Seriously? After being nothing to me for three-quarters of my life, where does he get off being all parental right now?

BLOG TOUR + REVIEW + GIVEAWAY – Crushed (Redemption #2) by Lauren LayneCrushed (Redemption #2)
by Lauren Layne

Synopsis:

Lauren Layne’s latest novel about the healing power of redemption tells the story of a crush gone wickedly wrong, proving that what you want isn’t always what you need.

Growing up in New York, Michael St. Claire never expected to spend his twenties wearing cowboy boots. But that was before he learned about his real father, a total stranger with a family in Cedar Grove, Texas. Once in the Lone Star State, Michael meets Kristin Bellamy, who is exquisitely refined and everything Michael always thought he wanted in a woman. The only problem is that Kristin is dating Michael’s new half-brother, Devon.

Kristin’s mouthy, curvy sister Chloe has always been in love with Devon Patterson. So when Michael offers to help Chloe break up Devon and Kristin, Chloe agrees to a deal that seems too good to be true. Before long, Chloe finally gets her man, only to make a startling discovery: She no longer wants the guy she had to fight for—she wants the one who stood by her side.

After all he and Chloe have been through, Michael swears he’s damaged goods. Can Chloe convince him that love is worth the risk?

Review:

Crushed warmed me from my head to my toes.  It was hilarious, endearing, and heartbreaking all at the same time.  Just when my eyes dried from laughing, they would be tearing up again for the struggles Michael and Chloe went through.  They both wanted to find what they were desperately searching for, to be loved, yet it was always out of reach time and time again.  But while they are searching, be prepared to have a huge smile on your face.  This unlikely friendship brings out the best and worst in each other, it’s definitely not something you want to miss!

Ignorance truly is bliss.
And when ignorance is over?
All hell breaks loose. – Michael

Michael is struggling with learning the truth.  After suffering rejection from Olivia, whom he had secretly been in love with forever, he overheard that the man who raised him isn’t even his father.  To escape everything and find his real father, he journeys down to Texas.  There he discovers that two sisters are intertwined in his half brother Devon’s life.  While the gorgeous, thin Kristen is dating Devon, he notices that Chloe, the younger curvy, out of shape one, is in love with him too.  Upon noticing that little jewel of information, he agrees to help train Chloe at the gym and eventually help her try and break up Devon and Kristen.  Little does she know the reasoning behind any of it.  But while getting closer to Michael, will she still want Devon or will she fall for Michael instead?

It annoys me that I’m not immune to his calculated man-whore routine.
But what bugs me even more is that he knows. He knows what I’ve never told anyone.
That I don’t feel in control of my own life. – Chloe

Chloe is infectious.  She is quirky, cheerful and insightful while sometimes clueless.  She was easy to relate to and it’s impossible not to laugh at so many of the things she does and says.  The things that come out of her mouth?  Oh my, you are in for a treat.  But my favorite thing about her?  How she could annoy and get under Michael’s skin.  She is definitely talented in that department!  But she is an amazing friend to him.  Even when he doesn’t want one.

I have the strangest feeling that Chloe Bellamy knows that when I say it’s hard, I’m not talking about the squats.
I’m talking about life.
My life. – Michael

Michael is jaded and for good reason.  So lucky us, we get a sexy, bad boy who is in desperate need of being fixed and has a dark sense of humor.  Where do I sign up?  But his facade would splinter from time to time because of Chloe.  No matter how hard he tried too maintain it, her presence and words would allow a smile to escape at times.  That smile would never stay on for long, and it hurt to see how little he valued himself.  How much he hurt.  How he didn’t believe that he didn’t deserve be hurting.

I comply, and then mutter a string of curses because Chloe Bellamy has just reached out in the middle of a busy gym and patted my ass.
“Very nice,” she says, sounding surprised.
“Chloe!”
She shrugs. “You just got so upset when I was ogling that other guy instead of you, so I wanted to make you feel good.

Chloe and Michael together ensured for constant entertainment.  And the icing on the cake is getting to be in both of their heads.  I love being able to understand and get where they are both coming from!  Oh wow, I just wanted to walk into those pages and be Chloe’s friend while also staring dreamily at Michael.  After two books, I think it’s safe to say that I have found an author whose writing I truly love!

BLOG TOUR + REVIEW + EXCERPT + GIVEAWAY – The Trouble with Love (Sex, Love & Stiletto #4) by Lauren LayneThe Trouble with Love (Sex Love & Stiletto #4)
by Lauren Layne

Synopsis:

As Lauren Layne’s salacious Sex, Love & Stiletto series returns, a jaded columnist discovers a steamy way to get over an old flame: falling for him all over again.

As Stiletto magazine’s authority on all things breakup-and-heartache, Emma Sinclair writes from personal experience. Five years ago, Emma was Charlotte, North Carolina’s darling debutante and a blushing bride-to-be. Now she’s the ice queen of the Manhattan dating scene. Emma left her sultry Southern drawl behind, but not even her closest friends know that with it she left her heart. Now Emma’s latest article forces her to face her demons—namely, the devilishly sexy guy who ditched her at the altar.

After giving up everything for a pro-soccer career, Alex Cassidy watches his dreams crumble as a knee injury sidelines him for good. Now he’s hanging up his cleats and giving journalism a shot. It’s just a coincidence that he happens to pick a job in the same field, and the same city, as his former fiancée . . . right? But when Emma moves in next door, it’s no accident. It’s research. And Alex can’t help wondering what might have been. Unlike the innocent girl he remembers, this Emma is chic, sophisticated, and assertive—and she wants absolutely nothing to do with him. The trouble is, Alex has never wanted her more.

Review:

The Trouble With Love was hilarious, sexy, heartbreaking, and addicting.  Emma and Cassidy’s past has been dangled in front of us in the previous books, but we never really knew what happened to them.  Why it all fell apart.  But what made this book so potent, was not only the fact that we already knew both of them, but the idea that they could have a second chance at love.  There is something extraordinary in the ability to resurrect something that was demolished.  To find hope that love still exists after the insurmountable happens.  And Emma and Cassidy’s tumultuous journey is exceptional.  It was the perfect ending to the Sex, Love & Stiletto’s series!

He smiled. “You didn’t look me up even once?”
“It hurt too much.”
Alex sucked in a breath at the unexpected admission. “Em—”
“Back then,” she corrected. “Back then it hurt too much. After a few months . . . I just didn’t care.”

I loved Emma!  I understood her coldness, the fronts she always tried to display.  The reason she wouldn’t talk to her close friends about what happened.  She tried her hardest to protect herself from anymore heartache.  Because she had suffered more than one should.  She had been madly in love with her college sweetheart, Alex Cassidy.  Well, that is until he stood her up on their wedding day.  To say that Emma is jaded, is an understatement.  But Emma isn’t just hurt, there’s much more to her than that.  She is an amazing friend, and I loved all of her interactions with Julie, Grace and Riley.  But of course, my favorite interactions were between Emma and Cassidy.

Cassidy was sexy, dominating, and wounded.  Although the wounded part could be hard to tell sometimes, because that man held himself together with steel.  An amazing feat, since he lost the love of his life seven years ago.  He stated that the night before their wedding, Emma told him that she didn’t want to marry him.  They never got to talk afterwards or have any type of closure.  But he’s in luck, because he gets to force the issue.  Camille, the Editor in Chief of Stiletto Magazine, decided to take a three month sabbatical and placed Cassidy in charge.  He was now in the perfect position to tell Emma that her next article would be about her exes.  Of course it was done in the desperate hope that he would gain some insight into everything that went down.  But his plan just may lead them down a different path.  Will he get even more than he bargained for?

Then he seemed to change his mind, and glanced at her anyway. “Sometimes I think I’d prefer you hate me. At least then you’d notice me.”
Everything inside Emma seemed to freeze. I notice you— too much. Do you notice me?

When Emma and Alex were in the same vicinity, it was intense!  Their hurt runs deep, jealousy was unavoidable, and the sexual tension between the two of them was through the roof!  They try their hardest to ignore one another, but that never seemed to work out how they wanted.  That is because they have too many emotions that are barely simmering below the surface.  And each time those emotions tried to bubble over, I cringed, I gasped, I laughed, and I melted.  I loved every moment that they were near each other, even if it was torturous at times!

The Trouble With Love was heartbreaking, emotional and gave me just the right amount of hope and laughter.  Looking back, I wasn’t even a few pages into their story and I was already gasping and sucking in my breath!  But what is also amazing about this series are the friendships.  The male and female friendships play such a key component in each story.  It’s beautiful to watch true friends love and help each other.  It’s impossible not to become attached to them, to not feel as though they are your best friends too.  Honestly,I’m not ready for their stories to end.  I’m hoping we will get a sneak peak here and there of the Stiletto women in the Oxford Series, but if not, I’m more than happy with how each book in this series ended. But going back to Emma and Cassidy, their journey was beautiful.  I loved Emma and Cassidy’s story and I know you will too.

P.S.  Did I mention that I read this book in one sitting?  That is extremely rare for me!  Emma and Cassidy refused to allow me to close their story, even if for a moment! *ARC kindly provided by Random House Publishing via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*

Excerpt:

[scroll-box]“Explain?” Julie said.

Emma sighed. “The apartment above me had some sort of water disaster. My entire apartment looks like the set of Titanic, minus the nubile Leo.”

Julie eyed Emma’s wet hair. “So, is your hair wet from, like, dirty pipe water?”

“No,” Emma said, taking a last sip of Julie’s coffee and handing the cup back as she located her badge. “Fortunately, I’d showered before the pipe burst and I managed to dodge the worst of the spray. Unfortunately, drying my hair wasn’t an option.”

“Right. That whole electrocution thing,” Julie said as they swiped their badges and headed to the elevators.

“Um, yeah, I couldn’t have gotten electrocuted even if I wanted to,” Emma said, punching the Up button. “The power went out.”

Julie’s brown eyes bugged out. “Seriously? Flooded and you have no power? Is everything ruined?”

“Of course not. I still have this lovely dress,” Emma said, pulling the hem of her dress out to the side, curtsy style. She pretended not to notice the way the two girls who had been gossiping happily as they crossed the elevator lobby immediately quieted when they spotted her.

The dress would have been a distraction all by itself. The drippy wet bun was also atypical for a swanky office building in which sophisticated and polished was the unofficial dress code for women.

But a lack of makeup made everything worse. Much worse.

Not that Emma was really a glam type of girl, but she had a distinct disadvantage of having very fair eyelashes, despite her medium brown hair. And her eyes’ shape made it worse. They were both large and tilted upward in a semi-distinctive manner. Bambi eyes, her mother had always called them.

But without eyeliner and mascara, she was more Lord of the Rings’ Gollum than adorable baby deer.

“You know, it’s a good dress, if a bit out of place for work,” Julie mused, as they followed the two gossiping girls and a middle-aged man yapping into his phone onto the elevator. “Sexy. A little slutty even. Go you!”

“That’s great, Jules. Slutty was just what I was going for on a random Wednesday morning at the office.”

“Well then, you should have called me. We’re the same size–ish. I could have lent you something.”

“I’ll be taking you up on that tomorrow,” Emma said as Julie hit the button for the twelfth floor. “Everything I have will need to be dry-cleaned at best, burned at worst. But this morning, I couldn’t make it from Upper East over to Upper West in the middle of traffic and still make it to the office in time.”

The elevator doors had just started to close when a male hand stuck between them, activating their sensors so that the doors reopened.

Great. Really freaking fantastic.

A lesser woman would have groaned in dismay at the sight of the man in front of her.

Emma merely straightened her shoulders, ignoring Julie’s softly uttered “Oh, dear.”

It was him.[/scroll-box]

BLOG TOUR + REVIEW + GIVEAWAY + INTERVIEW – Dark Debt (Chicagoland Vampires #11) by Chloe Neill

Review:
“If you touch her again, come near her again, I will tear you apart with my own bare hands, Master or not.”

There are so many things I love about this series. So many things I hold back after finishing a book because, really, how many times can you repeat all the same things you love about a consistently excellent series? I always do a mini-review, letting people know the main reasons I loved the story, and I hardly put all I truly feel into the review. Well, 7 mini-reviews later and I think it’s time I finally let all these built up emotions out-this book was excellent and people deserve to hear about it.

Ethan sighed. “It has nothing to do with pretty.”
“Not according to your brain,” I agreed. “But once again-”
Ethan held up a hand. “No need to repeat the point.”
“When I’m four hundred, do I get to date a twenty-five-year old?”
Ethan narrowed his gaze. “If you date anyone other than me at any point in your hopefully long and fruitful life, there will be trouble for both of us.”

I keep saying that these stories continue to get better, and it’s true, mostly, but there is something refreshing about a more sinister plot. Like, it’s known that when you pick up a Chicagoland Vampires book that there will be a mystery to solve, Ethan and Merit will have to conquer a new threat to their relationship, and there will be lots of love and snark exchanged between them. It’s a fact. It’s an inevitability. And I always get so excited to pick up the next new story. But this time there was something new. Sure, there’s always something new-But not like this.

Never has there been something that made me feel so icky about what could happen to Merit-or Ethan, for that matter. But when the return of an old figure from Ethan’s dark past reemerges, things begin to get….foggy. Merit’s defenses are down, Ethan isn’t (and can’t be) quick to save Merit, and no one can understand why, or how, this person is getting past their wards on the house. How does one protect another person’s mind? Is there even a way? And what happens when Ethan isn’t there to break the trance, and the next time he’s too late? What then?

There was nothing equivocal in his gaze, in the steadiness of his green eyes. “He was my nightmare, Merit. You are my miracle. He will not touch you again. Yes?”

Ethan, as always, was beyond words. He is so loyal to Merit and would do anything to keep her safe. And when Merit has a close run-in with this dangerous and mysterious enemy, it guts him that she recoils from his touch. She becomes withdrawn and so unlike herself, leaving everyone scrambling to keep the wards in place…even when there isn’t a break-anywhere in sight. It makes him moody, protective, possessive, and more than a little bit nervous (Waaaaiiittt, yeah, my bad he’s always like that-but, hey, it was a little more intense this time). Ethan likes to be in control, to be the alpha, to know he’s keeping the love of his life (and his house) safe. So, when bad things begin to surround his house, he’s more than unsettled.

“I like to think I’m more than the sum of my training.”
“You are,” Luc said. “There’s at least some hot beef or deep dish in there.”
“I am also more than Chicago foodstuffs.”
Ethan grinned at Luc. “Pumas? Diet Coke? Smart-assery?”
Luc snapped his fingers, pointed at Ethan. “Yes. And, like, three percent medieval literature.”
“You’re both hilarious. Really and truly. Comedy geniuses.”

And Merit. I adore this girl. She’s snarky, she’s funny, and she always has the best comebacks-I could be best friends with her. And, to top it all off, she can take care of herself. It’s not often you find a female lead with all the bells and whistles. But in this story, Merit feels violated, like she can’t defend herself even in her own home, in her own apartments, and with the man she loves sleeping right beside her. It’s a new kind of challenge for her and she spends the book doing everything she can to defend herself with no way of knowing what will work and when he’ll strike next….and what he’ll do to destroy the forever relationship she and Ethan have worked so hard to build.

Which was why Ethan returned to the apartments to find Mallory and me lying on the bed, television on, pooched stomachs taking a much needed breather.
“Oh, this is quite a sight,” Ethan said with obvious amusement, then spied the empty box of Mallocakes. “A vampire and sorceress done in by chocolate snack cakes.”
“Mallocake ‘splosion,” Mallory said weakly. “Pew, pew, pew.
“I think there’s one left.” I moved just enough to skim fingers against the box, tip it up. “Yep. One. You can have it.”
“Wait,” Mallory said, and put a hand on my arm while she deliberated, as if there was a chance she might be able to squeeze in one more. “No.” She waved me off. “I can’t. Go ahead.”
“This scenario isn’t really selling the Mallocake concept to me,” Ethan said.
“We’re having girl time.”
“Not the girl time I prefer to imagine, but so be it.”
“Perv,” Mallory said with a grin, rolling off the bed and trundling toward the door. “I’m going to roll myself downstairs.”
“Take care,” Ethan said. “And thank you for the ward.”
She burped indelicately.
“And that’s our powerful sorceress,” Ethan said, locking the door behind her.

I think the reason I liked this story so much was because of how it all progressed. There was a lot more action and it mixed really well with the banter and strategizing. I am so picky when it comes to this and I couldn’t have been happier with how it was all handled. There wasn’t a moment when I was bored or rushing to get past anything-every moment was important and every moment mattered. It was fast-paced and the love scenes were electric. Every minute was a rush as we tried to catch whoever was behind the sinister threats and when they were trying to defend the house. And, as always, the humor helped get us through every single moment.

I looked up at him. “Are you wooing me?”
“I’ve been wooing you since the moment our eyes locked on the first floor of this house.”
I gave him a flat look. “No, that’s when you accused me of being spoiled.”
“Details,” he said lightly, mouth drawn into a crooked grin.

So, I know that I gush a lot about these characters, but they are very dear to me and I am fully invested in whatever may happen to them. I want nothing more than for the prophecy to come about and for happy things to occur regularly for Ethan and Merit. Their love is tangible and it leaps off every page-every look, every touch, every embrace-they were made for each other. I cannot wait to see where the rest of the stories go, because this series has my heart. If you haven’t tried, you need to go and start these books now. You won’t regret it!

 Interview:

Very rarely do we get the opportunity as readers to get inside the mind of our favorite authors, but Chloe Neill has offered to answer a few questions for the blog tour! Take a peek at what she had to say:

1. Just as your books inspired other authors to write, what authors inspired you to write?

When I started writing, I’d been reading a lot of Rachel Caine, Kim Harrison, Charlaine Harris, and Stephanie Laurens, among others. I really loved reading stories in series, because you got to know the characters, the setting, and the little inside jokes and references that really made the book feel like a comfortable place to rest.

2. Is there a certain type of scene that’s harder for you to write than others? Love? Action? Emotional upset?

Action scenes are definitely the hardest for me to write, so the last scene I usually write in the book is an action scene that I’ve put off. 🙂 It’s difficult for me to imagine a three-dimensional fight, and then translate that into words for the two-dimensional page.  Banter is the easiest thing–I can write characters chatting all day long. But it doesn’t make for a very interesting scene.

3. Which of your Chicagoland Vampire characters would you most like to spend extended amounts of time with?

Probably Merit. I think we’d get along very well.  Or Damien, because I think he has a lot of interesting stories to tell. 🙂

4. If you could cast Ethan and Merit in a Hollywood adaption of your books, who would you choose to play their
characters?

David Beckham isn’t an actor, but he’ll always be Ethan for me. I don’t really have a specific girl in mind who epitomizes Merit, so I’m certainly open to suggestions!

Thanks for having me today!

I am so honored here today to be able to represent one of the most hilarious, sexy, and addictive series I’ve ever read. Not often do I, or we as a blog, stick with such long series. But since the beginning, Ethan and Merit have stolen my heart and and I am so happy I came across this wonderfully delicious series. If you have never read these stories, that’s a shame. But if you’re even a little bit curious, pick up the first book in the series, Some Girls Bite, and I swear you’ll be enthralled from page one. Thanks so much, Courtney Neill!

Synopsis:

Sometimes you find home, sometimes it comes looking for you.

Callie knows a lot more about pain than she does about family. She’s never belonged, at least, not until she falls through a portal into her true home. The beautiful faerie city of Eirensae doesn’t come free. Callie must find her amulet and bind herself to the city, and most importantly, avoid the Fallen fae who seek her life. Seems like a small price to pay for the family she’s always wanted.

Then she meets cynical and gorgeous Rowan, who reads the darkness of her past in her eyes. He becomes Callie’s part-time protector and full-time pain in the ass. He has secrets of his own for Callie to unravel. What they don’t know is that the future of Eirensae lies with them, and the once peaceful city is about to become a battleground for power.

Review:
Reflection Pond was such a fun book to devour.  It twinkled with excitement, mystery and a possibility for a beautiful relationship between two broken people.  Err Faeries.  What started out as journey to find ones true home, slowly morphed into a landscape built to incite a war.  And Callie and Rowan are smack dab in the middle of it.
Faeries, murder, magic.  How  the hell did she end up in the middle of it?
Callie is running away from the horrors of having her boyfriend touch her.  She doesn’t want him touching her body, she doesn’t care how crazy looks, she just needs to escape.  Lost in her rash decision and being caught up in the moment, she dodges an oncoming vehicle and falls into a pond.  The pond is a portal for her kind, and it leads her to Eirensae and two boys, Ash and Rowan.  Callie is now on a path to discover who she is and what the future already has in store for her.
And maybe she was crazy, but was it so wrong of her to be curious?  To ask, what if? She glanced again at her reflection.  They’d pinned flowers in her hair and covered her eyelids with glitter.
Maybe she wanted this.
Maybe this was the most excited she’d been.
Ever.

Callie has the most beautiful heart, but sometimes she struggled seeing what was in front of her.  Her innocence made me laugh, but some of the decisions she choose made me so proud.  I was so happy that she wanted to learn to physically defend herself.  There are Faeries and other beings that will want to hurt her for the powers and the possibilities she holds, so a big round of applause to Callie for learning to protect herself!  But at times, I wanted to shake her.  I desperately needed her to make up her mind for who to trust and be with, because I had already decided that in the first chapter of the book (a little obsessed with Rowan over here).  So it didn’t sit well with me when she View Spoiler », but keep in mind that two of my favorite Heroines did similar actions, and I still completely love them.  Thankfully, by the end of the book she was closer to the Callie I knew she deserved and wanted to be!  Sometimes it takes a little while to get your footing and grow up, so I can’t wait to see how her actions in the next books will play out.

I always choose debauchery over death.  It’s my basic nature.  Remember that. – Ash

Rowan is a Faerie that Callie meets when she lands in Eirensae, and let it be known that I love Rowan!  He is dark, sarcastic, and dangerously addicting.  He is everything I love all wrapped up in a sexy body!  Ohhh and add the fact that when he is angry and frustrated he trains his body while using weapons, you have a recipe for a truly amazing man.  Every time he graced a page, I had a smile on my face.  He liked to mess with Callie, and it constantly made me laugh.  I know it’s obvious, but I loved everything about him.

This book was such a wonderful surprise!  It was light enough, yet the mystery of amulets, immortals and a prophecy made for an interesting book.  And I love that we got to alternate between being in Callie and Rowan’s mind.  It was refreshing knowing where both of them stood and what they each thought of not only each other but also of the events that took place.  After that ending, I look forward to following Callie and Rowan on their journey and finding out what the future has in store for them.
