2017 Favorite Singles

We are so excited that we get to share our favorite books that are stand alone from last year with you!  They may be part of a series or have a spinoff,  but they read so you are given closure upon completion.  We read them in 2017, but they could have been released a previous year.

Click our reviews to learn more about each book, or click on the cover to go to Amazon.  We organized our favorites by age and genre categories so it would be easier to find exactly what you want.  We hope you enjoy!

Hahaha! Not surprised to see any on your list, Jen. If Lauren Layne wrote YA, the other authors would be in trouble 🙂

Awww I have enough love to go around LOL! BUT I did see on Twitter that LL said she was thinking about it after binging some of Kasie West’s books. Soooooo we’ll see eeks!

  2. Pamela

I loved Cinder & Ella too! It’s one of my favorite contemporaries! Sadly, I wasn’t as into An Enchantment of Ravens as I had hoped though 🙁 Buuut, omg An Ex for Christmas was sooo good! I enjoyed reading every word!

Yessssssss for An Ex for Christmas being SO good! Not sure if you have her latest release, Runaway Groom, but it was AMAZING. It’s a take on The Bachelor and the drama with the other contestants and the banter between the hero and heroine is soooo much fun!

Why haven’t I read any of these? They all sound so good! 😩

Sneak away from the world and devour a ton of them. That’s what I always want to do ha! 😉

Aaww, these all sound so nice! I didn’t know about some of them but others I have on my TBR (such as An Enchantment of Ravens, Eliza and her Monsters, and Black Bird in the Gallows) so I’m excited to try the others 🙂 Especially because I’m hoping to read a few different genres than what I’m used to, like NA and such. I’ll be adding them to my TBR for sure 🙂
    Thanks for sharing!

I’m hoping to read An Enchantment of Ravens and Eliza and her Monsters this year too! And Black Bird of the Gallows was such a surprising read, I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did. I’m super excited to read it’s companion novel this fall. I hope you enjoy them all! 🙂

Alex was one of my top 2017 reads and Tell Me Three Things was one of my top 2016 reads. I also adored Eliza and Letters to the Lost. I have Love & Gelato and Adorkable but have yet to read them. Glad you liked them so much. I enjoyed Run Away with Me and really want to read Getting Lucky Number Seven. I finally read a Madsen book, Nailed It, and I really enjoyed it. The cover is so cheesy, but Ex for Christmas was sooooo good! It made me so happy and the ending was just perfect. It spoke to the Hallmark movie lover in me.

Aw we loved so many of the same books and the others I have on my tbr. Ohhh when you’re in the mood for a fake boyfriend book definitely give Adorkable a try. It’s my favorite book in that trope, it’s just soooooo cute!

This was a great list! I’m so glad to see so many of my favorites in this list! I loved Alex Aproximately, Adorkable, Cinder & Ella, Punk 57, Eliza and her Monsters, Ninja Girl, Letters to the lost, and Enchantment of Ravens. Black Bird of the Gallows isn’t my favorite but I did enjoyed reading it and it’s too bad that it’s a stand-alone novel. Shag Lake sounds very interesting! I really need to check it out! 🙂

Ohhhhh Black Bird of the Gallows has a companion novel coming out this fall. Not sure if you’re interested in picking up another book by that author but it’s to be from the POV of one of the Bee Keepers *looks shockingly into the universe*. So I’m hoping it has a huge anti-hero feel. And I so need to read the rest of the books that you loved!

  7. Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction

So many books I love in these lists! I read more series than standalones, but sometimes I love a book that can be read and done.

Oh I’m the same way, I go back and forth between the need to read series and standalones. And I’m the same way with genres. It’s nice to change it up after each book! 🙂
