Monthly Wrap-Up – November

During our Monthly Wrap-Up, we’ll take a look at what has happened around here in the last month. That’ll include what’s happened in my life, what the four of us have read, any other posts we may have had, giveaways still going on, our most popular Instagram posts, and books that I’ve added to my ever-growing TBR.

♥ Enjoy!

Jen’s Life:

Some of my highlights from November were –

My youngest is in Kindergarten and I swear he brought home every germ last month.  First it was a cold, then it was the flu and then croup.  Thankfully we were all healthy by Thanksgiving, but it was a rough road to get there.  And hopefully that means we’re good for the rest of the year?!  Fingers crossed!
I discovered a new favorite cookie while baking.  They are Soft Caramel Snickerdoodles from Sally’s Baking Addiction (Chelsea and I are both love with her recipes).  A snickerdoodle with caramel inside….oh my gosh, yum!  I highly recommend them if you adore baking and snickerdoodles.  You can find the recipe here.
We celebrated Thanksgiving at my parents house.  My parents, brother, aunt, uncle and my Grandma now live by my husband and I so we only have to drive 18 minutes to celebrate the holidays.  It was such a nice, relaxing day with family and my boys had so much fun!

Our Favorite Books of the Month:

Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass #7) by Sarah J. Maas (Arielle’s Choice)
I swear to God I spent this entire book crying, laughing, heart racing, scared out of my wits, clutching my heart or throat because I was damn invested in what I might find on the next page. If some evil person were to tell me that I was only able to read one author’s books for the rest of my life, it would be hers.

✩✮✩

The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager  (Cassie’s Choice)
I was breathless up until the last page and I was left fully satisfied. I cannot wait for future books from Sager if his first two novels are an indication of what’s to come next.

✩✮✩

Before the Devil Breaks You (The Diviners #3) by Libba Bray  (Chelsea’s Choice)
When I love something, I love it with every fiber of my being…and this series deserves all the praise. I just hope I can last until that final book comes out…because Ms. Bray literally holds my heart in the palm in her hand.

✩✮✩

Dangerous Exes (Liars, Inc. #2) by Rachel Van Dyken (Jen’s Choice)
I loved how they toyed with each.  I loved the games they played. But I loved the passion between them the most.  It was crazy addicting and created so many explosive scenes bursting with sexual tension.

Yuck, sorry about the diseases. I’m glad you had a good Thanksgiving, though. Those cookies sound yummy. It looks like you got a lot of reading done. I’m envious. Have a great December!

Thank you so much! And the cookies are super yummy! I want to make them again already but I have too many other things I want to bake around the holidays first. Baking is like books….so many new ones to try and there is never enough time. 😉

Nice Wrap up! Looks like you had a great month, Jen! I really need to pick up The Diviners series someday soon. I’ve heard great things about that series. Dangerous Exes sounds pretty good! I have it on my kindle. I hope I’ll get to it soon.
Hope you all have a wonderful December! 🙂

Thank you so much and I can’t wait to hear what you think about Dangerous Exes. It was such a fun book to read, I couldn’t stop laughing and smiling. ♥

I was very lucky. My daughter was never really sick once she got out of daycare (that’s where she got all the germs). Glad to hear everyone’s health was restored for the holiday. I have been putting off KoA, because I am not ready for it all to end, though, from all the great reviews, I think I will be happy.

I was 100% satisfied with the ending of KoA so I hope you are too. It is so amazing and the perfect ending for each character *sobs* haha

The flu and bronchitis have been going around here. Thankfully I haven’t caught anything yet (my hands are very dry from the constant washing though). I love your Instagram posts. See what I did read at Girl Who Reads

Oh no, it’s everywhere ugh. Here’s hoping you stay healthy! I’ve washed my hands so much that they’re cracking but it’s super hard to stay healthy when you’re at school 3xs a week and you have Kindergartners and 2nd graders coughing and sneezing on you, I need a bubble lol. And thank you so much!!

I have The Last Time You Lied here. I am trying to get myself into the mood to read this as it does sound suspenseful and exciting. Glad to hear you gave it a high rating. Being sick around the holidays is never good and just adds to the misery. Best of luck with the sharing of germs. And my husband LOVES snickerdoodles so thanks for the recipe. I already have the ingredients so I will make them for the holidays.

    • Jen

Thank you so much! We are finally healthy *fingers crossed*. I’m hoping it lasts through Christmas eeps. And have so much fun making that recipe! It’s so yummy and super easy. 🙂
