Just Finished and Loved:

every heart a doorway coverEvery Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuireAnna’s Review

5 Stars!  What a wonderful and original gem!

Eleanor West’s Home for Wayward Children  No Solicitations.  No Visitors.  No Quests.  Children have always disappeared under the right conditions; slipping through the shadows under a bed or at the back of a wardrobe, tumbling down rabbit holes and into old wells, and emerging somewhere… else.  But magical lands have little need for used-up miracle children.  Nancy tumbled once, but now she’s back. The things she’s experienced… they change a person. The children under Miss West’s care understand all too well. And each of them is seeking a way back to their own fantasy world.  But Nancy’s arrival marks a change at the Home. There’s a darkness just around each corner, and when tragedy strikes, it’s up to Nancy and her new-found schoolmates to get to the heart of things.  No matter the cost.

It’s been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back. Anything, including making a deal with Raffe, an injured enemy angel. Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they journey toward the angels’ stronghold in San Francisco, where Penryn will risk everything to rescue her sister and Raffe will put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

how to dissappear ann redisch stampler How to Disappear by Ann Redisch Stampler
Nicolette Holland is the girl everyone likes. Up for adventure. Loyal to a fault. And she’s pretty sure she can get away with anything…until a young woman is brutally murdered in the woods near Nicolette’s house. Which is why she has to disappear.  Jack Manx has always been the stand-up guy with the killer last name. But straight A’s and athletic trophies can’t make people forget that his father was a hit man and his brother is doing time for armed assault. Just when Jack is about to graduate from his Las Vegas high school and head east for college, his brother pulls him into the family business with inescapable instructions: find this ruthless Nicolette Holland and get rid of her. Or else Jack and everyone he loves will pay the price.  As Nicolette and Jack race to outsmart each other, tensions—and attractions—run high. Told in alternating voices, this tightly plotted mystery and tense love story challenges our assumptions about right and wrong, guilt and innocence, truth and lies.

Finished it and LOVED! It has some elements of horror (although I’m a huge baby and some people may roll their eyes at me for this comment lol) but it was addicting, gripping and Penryn and Raffe both skyrocketed to the top of my favorite characters ever list. I even forced my mom to start it this last weekend ha! Review is done and should post this Wed or Thurs. 🙂

I need to read Angelfall already. I hope you like it! 🙂

Angelfall creeped me out and made me fall madly in love with the story-line and characters. It literally pained me to put the book down and resume real life. I think you would LOVE this book and series! It was beyond amazing!
