Life:
Last Saturday my son got to have his 1st ever birthday party with all of his classmates and friends. We had it at the local gymnastics center, and they were all so adorable to watch! We only had one hiccup the whole party. By the time the 3rd kiddo, which was the birthday boy himself, got up to the pinata, he completely decimated it. The kids were screaming and running for the candy and all of us adults were like uhhhh what happened lol. So needless to say, it was perfect timing that this week was tball signups. Both of my boys are now signed up and they can’t wait for the season to begin Mid March. 🙂 Here’s hoping you all had a great week too.
In case you aren’t familiar with our Friday Star Posts, we like to take a look at what’s happened around here in the last week, what’s coming up that we are excited about and anything else that we may have to share!
♥ Enjoy!

Just Finished and Loved:
Adorkable by Cookie O’Gorman → Jen’s Review
4.5 Stars! Adorkable was filled with laughter, butterfly and smile inducing moments, and I couldn’t get enough of it!
Adorkable (ah-dor-kuh-bul): Descriptive term meaning to be equal parts dorky and adorable. For reference, see Sally Spitz.
Seventeen-year-old Sally Spitz is done with dating. Or at least, she’s done with the horrible blind dates/hookups/sneak attacks her matchmaking bestie, Hooker, sets her up on. There’s only so much one geek girl and Gryffindor supporter can take.
Her solution: she needs a fake boyfriend. And fast.
Enter Becks, soccer phenom, all-around-hottie, and Sally’s best friend practically since birth. When Sally asks Becks to be her F.B.F. (fake boyfriend), Becks is only too happy to be used. He’d do anything for Sal–even if that means giving her PDA lessons in his bedroom, saying she’s “more than pretty,” and expertly kissing her at parties.
The problem: Sally’s been in love with Becks all her life–and he’s completely clueless.
This book features two best friends, one special edition Yoda snuggie, countless beneath-the-ear kisses and begs the question:
Who wants a real boyfriend when faking it is so much more fun?

Guardian of Secrets (Library Jumpers #2) by Brenda Drake
The story continues! In the first book, Thief of Lies, Gia Kearns would rather fight with boys than kiss them. That is, until Arik, a leather clad hottie in the Boston Athenaeum, suddenly disappears. Jumping into some of the world’s most beautiful libraries would be a dream come true for Gia, if she weren’t busy resisting her heart or dodging an exiled wizard seeking revenge on both the Mystik and human worlds. Add a French flirt obsessed with Arik and a fling with a young wizard, and Gia must choose between her heart and her head, between Arik’s world and her own, before both are destroyed.

Chelsea ended up loving Frostblood! Which I found exciting, since there seems to be such a mix of high and low reviews out there on this book. And I saw the author is releasing the 2nd in the trilogy right before Fall 2017, yay! 🙂
Thanks so much for sharing all the fun deals!! That’s awesome your son’s birthday went well and that he was the one to burst the pinata.

I was so shocked, especially since we still had 12 more kids to go through. Maybe next year I’ll have 2 pinatas lol.
Sounds like your son’s ready to be a baseball superstar! LOL!

LOL, totally! They both have been asking me to put blue tape X’s all over their walls so they can practice throwing soft balls at them….and so it begins all over again lol!
I loved The Power! Seth and Josie are awesome character, and I can’t wait for book three. I also really enjoyed Die For Me by Amy Plum. Great recommendations, Jen. 😊

I can’t wait for book 3 either! I’m so excited that it’s going to be 4 books, because I was freaking out that there’s no way it could all be wrapped up in just 3 books ha. I still need to read Die For Me, it’s patiently waiting on my Kindle. 🙂
